Serene La Playa Boracay

The location is in a quiet location, its not beside the road, and not next to the party places.

The interior lights in the room are not so bright, and the room table is small for families with kids.

Dinner menu was incredible and the chef outstanding. Breakfast needs improving. Location was perfect for beach and central town, ATMs, massage and activities.

The breakfast menu :( Rooms were small and the view is pretty bad. The best view is from the the roof top. The rooms and hallways were not sound proof and the building is suffering from termites in some areas. Unfortunately some of the neighbors treat their pets really badly and it is a hard watch. :(

There were rats inside the walls of the facility and we can hear them playing around especially at night time.

I really liked the staff – they were friendly and always willing to help. I enjoyed the breakfast on the rooftop, though the menu initially didn’t align with my standards. However, they were very accommodating and adjusted the breakfast for me. Since I don’t eat meat and love healthy options, the salad and egg whites they prepared were perfect! The hotel is modest and small but cozy and quiet, even though it’s right in the middle of everything. The location is fantastic, with proximity to the beach, shops, restaurants, and spas. They provided towels and umbrellas for the beach, which was a nice touch. The room had a small balcony and was well-equipped, making it comfortable for one person. They even offer food and massage delivery to the room, which added to the convenience. I also loved that Pig Out, my favorite restaurant on the entire island, is right across the street!

What I didn’t like was the path to the beach – it was dirty and smelly. While it’s only a two-minute walk, it’s unpleasant to deal with every day. The AC in the room was noisy and blew hard from a single unit, which made it uncomfortable. The bathroom definitely needs renovation, and I missed having an iron and ironing board. The blow dryer provided was old, so I didn’t use it. They greeted me with a welcome drink, which I didn’t drink as I was thirsty for water. When I asked for a bottle of water, they gave it to me but didn’t mention it would be charged to my bill, which I only found out at the end. In general, the local culture seems to be about saying ‘yes’ to everything without being transparent about additional charges, which I found annoying. Lastly, I didn’t like that they held the deposit in local pesos in cash. It’s very inconvenient, especially for travelers.
