Serene La Playa Boracay

Our stay was riddled with issues from start to finish, making it a truly awful experience. Firstly, we received no information about airport transfers, despite reaching out to the hotel through Booking.com. Our messages went unanswered, the ferry port even asked why our hotel had not organised a shuttle service. The room itself was tiny, dark, and nothing like what was advertised. Although we booked a twin room, it was not what we were given. The bathroom window was broken missing a handle, forcing us to call maintenance just to close it. To make matters worse, the water took over 20 minutes to even get lukewarm, which was highly inconvenient given our schedule. The bin in the room was broken, the pillows smelled unpleasant (I had to request replacements), and the room was generally dirty. When we raised these issues with reception, they were completely unhelpful and dismissive. We would have left and found alternative accommodation, but unfortunately, most nearby hotels were fully booked. Exhausted and at the end of our trip to the Philippines, we had no energy left to argue further. This stay was an absolute disappointment. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures advertised, and the service was abysmal. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were very helpful with any request that we had. I enjoyed having the breakfast included and being close to the beach.

It would have been good to know ahead of time the hotel's preferred policy for housekeeping. We would have appreciated some fresh new towels but we caught on that we could request as needed.

Bathroom a little small

The hotel is in a perfect location, just 1 minute walk to the beach. The rooftop bar restaurant salsa is fabulous, the food was the best we ate in Boracay, the staff in there are amazing.

The only downside was we couldn't sleep past 4am for cockrels being noisy,, I assume this is a common thing in the phillipines and didn't spoil our stay as it was the only negative we could find!

Location near the beach

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was great, as it was near the dining establishments and activities in Station 2 but also still within the relaxing and quiet Station 1. We were most thankful for the staff who made sure we felt welcomed every day and helped us with everything. They also notified us about the item we left. Will definitely choose Serene La Playa when I go back to Boracay.

The water pressure for the bidet needed adjusting, and the free breakfast could be improved in terms of portion and choices. Aside from those, there was nothing else we didn't like.

Great hotel right by the beach with all the shopping areas within walking distance.
