PORTER HOTEL - Surf & Yoga Retreat

It’s a hidden gem!! 💎 Wij zijn in onze vakantie van 3 weken, 3x teruggekomen. In love met de plek. De kamers zijn prachtig, een mooie botanische douche en het zwembad is heerlijk. Personeel is erg lief en het eten is ook echt heerlie!!

Un cadre magnifique avec une vue sur la jungle. La piscine est très agréable, le personnel est au petits soins. La situation est un peu à l’écart de l’agitation du centre de Kuta et à seulement quelques minutes en scooter, c’est un vrai plus.

The staff are excellent - they cannot do enough for you. The food and drinks are also exceptional; large portions of high quality food at an incredibly low cost. The facilities are very clean and of hotel standard. A dream stay for any backpacker. The hostel beds are comfy and adequate. Exceptional value for money. Luck of the draw which bed you get; downstairs three-bed rooms are far nicer and cooler than the upstairs 6-bed dorm.

There is a construction site next door and the building work noise does disturb the otherwise serene peace and quiet. The location is about a 20-min walk from town along treacherous roads, so you do need a scooter to get around, really (but watch out for potholes). There is an incredibly steep hill to get to the car park of the hostel - unfortunately, with mud from the building site having been washed down this hill by the rain, I did crash my scooter down it, breaking my big toe. This is a health and safety issue the hostel are already aware of, but you should be too - please let the staff help you park your scooter if you're a beginner like me!

One of the nicest dorms I've ever stayed at! Great rooms with a nice, functional common area for dorm guests. The garden and pool are great, and so are the staff. Everyone was super friendly and kind!
