This hotel is perfectly planted in the heart of Kyoto—steps from everything you could possibly need. The standout feature? The rooftop bar. You can kick back, soak your feet in warm onsen water, and sip a drink while gazing out at a panoramic view of Kyoto. Pure bliss. The room is on the small side, but it’s cozy and comfortable. Perks like complimentary coffee, tea, soda, ice cream, and popsicles are a sweet touch (literally). The open-air onsen is clean and serene, ideal for unwinding after a day of temple-hopping. The staff are friendly and genuinely helpful. A gem for convenience, comfort, and a little rooftop magic.

You cannot beat the location, the superb service, the atmonsphere, and the design. Everything about this hotel is remarkable. I have been to Kyoto many times, but this hotel topps them all. The staff is so helpful, the sheets are refined, the onsen in the room with a view of spectacular Kyoto makes the experience not only luxurious but makes you want to come back here.

We really enjoyed our stay! The rooftop terrace was very pretty at night, the foot bath an added bonus. The onsens are very beautiful and relaxing too.

Soraniwa is a very relaxing hotel with traditional Japanese amenities. The onsens are lovely & were rejuvenating. The staff was friendly & helpful. Robes & slippers are provided by the hotel. I would definitely recommend Soraniwa in Kyoto!

Perfect place to stay with access to Gion. Love the onsen ritual morning and evening. Love the shows and Yukata. Wonderful experience. Amazing service.

We loved the Soraniwa! The location was so great, room was awesome (with the private onsen) & the service was generous and kind! We had come from the other side of Kyoto where it was much quieter. While that was a lovely experience, we were glad to be more "in the mix" of the city side of Kyoto at the Soraniwa. Although being in the city, it was very quiet at night. The only downside was that we had difficulty with the AC & the room got very stuffy and hot overnight (this may have been user error). We loved that there are restaurants, shopping, and bar/lounges easily available in walking distance. We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends who are visiting Kyoto.
