Soraniwa Terrace Kyoto

This property was outstanding. We loved absolutely everything about our stay. Our favourite part was having access to the onsen each day. Definitely made our experience unique and luxe.

Top class all the way! Amazing rooftop bar w. stellar view. If you can afford, book this hotel. 5 min walk to Ponchoto/Nishki. Good Nature hotel across the street with deluctable healthy food. Fantastic eateries nearby. Top everything!

The pictures do not do this place justice! The hotel is just a few years old and the rooms are fantastic! The staff is super helpful and it’s just the kind of place you wanna hang out after fighting the crowds of tourists in Kyoto!

We stayed at Sora Niwa Terrace for 4 nights during our honeymoon visit to Kyoto and it served as an excellent home base! The location is perfect — a 10 minute walk to Gion, 5 minute walk to Pontocho, located near endless stores and restaurants, and steps away from buses and subways that take you to all the temples. We also received a honeymoon gift and complimentary drink vouchers for rooftop drinks during happy hour, which was a treat at sunset. The view is beautiful and the footbath is very relaxing! The rooms are not large, as can be expected in Japan, but great use is made of the space, and the rooms are clean and stylish with nice lighting, comfortable beds, and ample amenities (bath products, tea, robes, slippers, pajamas, four bottles of complimentary water a day, and more). The bathroom with a standing waterfall shower is also more spacious than the photos make it look online! We’d highly recommend this hotel for a couples’ stay in Kyoto!

We loved our stay at Sora Niwa. The room, albeit small, was very nicely decorated and the daily provision of pajamas and yukata was wonderful. The onsen was always clean and the waters deliciously soothing. The hotel is centrally located and easy to access all that Kyoto has to offer. But the best part of this hotel is the staff! I will never forget the kindness and caring provided by Madoka and her wonderful team ~ Roy, Coco, Airie and a few others that made our stay so special. We were always greeted with kind words and assistance for any reason. I hope to return to Kyoto and stay and this wonderful hotel once again!
