Coati Arenal Lodge

Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Close to all the activities we planned. Felt safe here. Shower was lovely. They did our laundry for $8. Utility sink was perfect for rinsing out bathing suits.

Balcony chairs weren't comfortable. Couldn't hang wet clothes outside. Parking lot was very tight but locked so worth using.

The staff were very helpful. Receptionist (Felipe) was very pleasant and helpful. The facility was clean and accommodating.

Very good space that was well taken care of. Loved having outdoor access and a quiet location. Kitchen was functional with everything we needed and bed was comfortable. Nicely designed.

The bed placement was a little awkward as one side was directly against the window so if 2 people are using the bed one must either crawl to the bottom or over the other person.

It had a bed, a shower and AC. Also surprisingly; didn’t see any cockroaches.

An estranged family member of mine died a few years back and he decomposed for several weeks before he was found. We had the appartement cleaned by professionals afterwards. This lodge is cleaned with the same chemical cleaning product they used to remove dead bodies, which smells awful. Every single lamp in the lodge is soul-crushing bleak white TL, for some reason there’s a reading light next to the bed but no sockets to plug it in. Ever wanted the excitement of showering with literal bare mains-voltage wires inches above your head? This is the place for you. Location is kinda meh. I had to call for them to open up, the lady that receives didn’t speak a word English and called me “gringo”, which isn’t a nice word if I’m not mistaking.
