Sun Valley Inn

I did not expect this hotel to be so clean and spacious,the lay out os nice.room was cozy and comfortable.and the employees,the front desk are very friendly and helpful.very nice people

Quite adequate for a short stay but furnishings need a serious update.

The motel is old and tired. The room was the same, but fairly clean. No pics on the walls, very minimal, did have a Frig and microwave, but no coffee bar. The towels were stained, not properly laundered. No table lamps, only canned overhead ones. Even the TV was not cable, maybe “rabbit ears”. To comment about extras would be absurd, when there was barely any TP left on the roll, so I got some from my car trunk. Lesson learned, I’ll go with “name brands” and spend more next time I’m in town.

When we arrived the towels were dirty. We also found a bug.

I especially liked the cleanliness and the inclusion of a microwave and small 'fridge.

I would have liked having a lamp near the bed. There was only an overhead light fixture to be turned on by the entrance door.

Spent the night before going on a cruise out of San Francisco. It was perfect.

Leaving the facility

It was clean and staff was helpful. We also liked the convenience of having our car right outside our room.

The walls were thin and we heard our neighbor talking on the phone well into the night making it difficult to sleep. We heard his conversation on the phone clearly, word for word. He also got up at 5 AM and we were awakened from more phone conversation. There was also a lot of street noise. We had a terrible night’s sleep which is our main complaint.

Very Large room (size big enough to have multiple rollaway or cots for extra sleeping). Infrastructure was very good: new flooring (albeit dirty) and the bathroom was very modern and clean. There was a small refrigerator and small microwave stacked on top of each other in the room. Great location with lots of amenities in very close walking distance (major shopping, movie theatre less than 1 block away; with Starbucks and Safeway across the street, restaurants are all over the area)

Room very sparse, furniture worn but solid. The room itself, had old furniture (the upholstered chairs may have been cleaned but they were stained). Bed had 2 flat pillows and there was no lamp on the bedside table so if you were in bed watching tv with the overhead lights on, you had to get out of bed to turn off the main lights...then you are in the dark. If you have to get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to get up and walk in the dark to the bathroom. IF they do not want to provide a bedside lamp, they should put dimmers on the main light to allow some light in the room at all times. I walked out of the shower with wet feet to get something out of my luggage. Then I used a towel to wipe up the water and the towel turned black!! This meant that while the floors were new and probably swept, they had not been mopped/cleaned to remove dirt that was on the floor. , Also, there were no courtesy items that I had expected to use: hair dryer, iron/ironing board, or coffee maker.
