BENTON PLACE INN

It was clean. The bed is extremely comfortable. There was plenty of hot water. The location is perfect with off street parking which is a rarity.

We have stayed here numerous times over 25 years. New owners have not maintained the exterior landscaping which was always part of the charm. Breakfast is no longer provided. The TV system is complicated. Inn keeper should provide printed instructions as to how to operate it. It actually turned on by itself in the middle of the night! We started the gas fireplace, (again no instructions were provided) but eventually turned it off as I began to feel odd, so we opened the door to get some fresh air.

I can’t think of anything except sometimes having to use the backup parking location but even it was safe and close to my room

We spent our honeymoon at the Benton Place when Rebecca ran the establishment. (Memories Suite) She had pastries and mimosas waiting for her guest. The best host ever! We came back to stay 30 years later for our Anniversary, and were slightly disappointed in the place. None of the extras were provided. And the room is in dire need of updates. The carpet was gross, extremely stained, to the point I wouldn’t take my shoes off, and walk barefoot on it. The AC window units could barely cool the room and the jets in the tub didn’t work. We filled and set the timer as instructed and nothing. Our trip was not a “memorable” one to say the least. The place has such potential, it’s a shame, it has been neglected to the Point it has.
