Second time we've stayed and is always a treat. Mark, Amy and team were super friendly, the room was perfect and the food was excellent both for normal lunch and for sunday dinner.

Beautiful location in the Peak District, close to Chatsworth House, perfect for exploring the area. We were greeted warmly by staff when we arrived and shown to our rooms (even though it was before formal check in time). We dined in the award winning restaurant, the food was sublime, service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Difficult to find anything that we didn't like!

The breakfast and service was great. We had a meal booked for the first night and wow, Mark, who was the patron/chef what an amazing experience.

Check out, we were charged for the breakfasts but our room when booked included breakfast. The venue saw we needed to pay for the breakfast which isn't great. Eventually we did not pay for the breakfasts.

Stayed just the one night as we were attending a nearby wedding. The place is immaculate with super helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious.

The room was spacious, well-equipped and nicely decorated. It was also extremely clean (!) and there was a daily cleaning service. The bed was really comfy and it was very quiet. We especially enjoyed the breakfast which was made to order. The whole team was super friendly. The Bulls Head is located in a quiet village and there is free parking available. If you want to have dinner or a good wine or beer in the evening you can just head down to the restaurant which is also very good. We stayed for six nights and enjoyed our stay a lot. Thanks to the whole team and hope to see you soon again!

The room initially looked lovely but as we used the room we found many faults. The blinds and light fittings were covered in dust. The shower drain must be blocked as when showering it overflowed onto the bathroom. We were served by a lovely young man who was as helpful as he could be. There was also a young lady who had just started and was her first night, she was also lovely, let down by rude and unhelpful manager.

On entering the property we met the manager who was unwelcoming and as our stay progressed I found her rude and unhelpful. Everything I asked for I was told no they either did not do it or could not. I asked for peppercorn sauce to go alongside my meal and I was told they had no green peppercorns. Not, I’m so sorry, I could ask our award winning chef if he can knock up a different sauce for you. The food we ordered was from the bar menu and was tasteless and just okay. I had asked for beer mats as I had a drink with ice in and it kept dripping on my dress. Apparently they are too posh for beer mats, probably why all the tables are sticky and it took ages for them to clear up after other customers left. They pride themselves on the posh menu in the restaurant and this is at detriment to the other customers, even those staying overnight! The outside drinking area would be lovely if swept and tidied up. What a shame.

Myself and my partner stayed for one night in the king room with copper bath as we were going to a wedding nearby. It was a fabulous find! Everything was spotless, comfy and relaxing. Mark was lovely and went above and beyond to make sure my partner’s breakfast was tailored to his dietary requirements (even though we said he didn’t have to) and we were super grateful for this. What a star! We would 100% come back again for a couple of nights and go on some nice walks nearby. Thank you so much to all the staff.

The breakfast was fine but not for us time wise as was only a rat 9.30 we like to get out early Bedroom was very clean and comfortable, bath very high to get in for shower as have mobility issue

Maybe shelf in bathroom for wife’s bits and pieces. When we arrived we were kept waiting and it felt very like we were not wanted there.
