We had planned to go there for Christmas. Hotel looks great. Made reservations for a lake suite and also reservations each night in the dining room. Only one other hotel in Waterton is open over Christmas. This week I get cancellations for our dinner reservations for Dec 24 and Dec 25 with no explanation. I call the hotel and ask why. I am told they just decided. There are no other restaurants open in town on those nights. Why would you stay at a hotel that decides to close their restaurant over Christmas with no other dining options in town, but keep the hotel open ? I asked for the hotel manager to call me to discuss, but he never called. Terrible customer service. Will never stay there.

Waiter spilled food and drinks on the table and made no effort to clean or apologize. He gave us warm water and looked offended when we asked for cold water. When I told him the soup was so-so, he did not ask us what was wrong. He only brought us the bill when we stood up and asked for it. Our potato/bacon soup was thin and was an ugly grey(vomit looking) colour. Paying $28.00 for that and an ok sandwich is outrageous! My sandwich was wrapped in brown paper, that made me think of a fast food joint. My friend’s meal was over salted and overcooked. When we complained about all this to the front desk, the two women said that they were sorry to hear this and that the manager was unavailable. No offer of compensation or another way to fix the issues.

No cleaning of rooms even though requested before 10pm. Just bed was done and towels changed. The floor of the bathroom got unfortunately dirty, but was not cleaned during stay

Michael, in the pub was awesome! They were short staffed, so he made drinks, took orders, delivered food to tables & cleared tables. A one man show

Long wait to get food

The room was comfortable and clean. Hotel location is perfect. Having a pub and restaurant on-site is also a big plus. Cocktails and restaurant food quality was excellent.

It was end of summer season, but hotel was suffering from a staff shortage. Those there were doing their best, but having an inexperienced reception person struggling to answer questions or process check-in/check-outs doesn't give a positive impression. It also impacted service at the restaurant.

Romantic hotel beside Waterton Lake. Nice room. Great restaurant with a view on the lake. Nice peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature.
