Blue Iris by Life House

Charming and cosy hotel under 10 mins walk from the ferry port with everything else on your doorstep. I stayed in one of the top rooms (room 12), so didn't hear any noise from other guest movement but I think it would be noisy in other rooms below, as most of these old converted houses are. I was invited to a glass of wine at 5pm on the house, not sure if this is every night or just a weekend thing, but it was a nice touch. I didn't need it as stayed for 1 night but noticed the room did not have a hairdryer. The bath robe was the most comfortable robe I've ever worn, I've tried to order it from the Revival website (one with the fleece material inside!) but they don't ship to UK :(. They use really nice shower products too. Only downside was that there were another guests hairs across the mini shower products, which was a bit gross.

My husband and I booked this hotel for our 5th anniversary in September of 2023. Unfortunately, Hurricane Lee caused our flight to be cancelled, and I contacted the hotel several days in advance to work with them on cancelling or rebooking our stay since we had no way of reaching Nantucket anymore. They completely ignored my several requests and ultimately charged us full price ($2000!!!). I always book 5-star hotels for the exceptional customer service, and Blue Iris did not deliver whatsoever. Extremely disappointing and frustrating.

This is not close to a five star experience. Service was almost non existent. Room was not cleaned one day, “trouble with house keeper, sorry”. Rooms are not insulated properly so we heard a lot of noise from other rooms. Hallway carpets are dirty and old. We would have a hard time rating the Blue Iris (3) three stars.

My daughter and I had a great stay here. Bed was very comfortable and staff was very nice. We were even allowed to check in hours early which was a bonus. I would stay again.

Overall, a solid property whose biggest perks are the included bikes offered with your stay and the breakfast. Room could be much improved by removing or replacing unnecessarily large furniture that caused the room to feel claustrophobic. Front desk service is really hit-or-miss. One attendant was fantastic while another treated us like we were absolutely wasting her time. In general, the stay was just fine but I don’t think I’ll stay here again.

Had an excellent stay for a quick get away, the hotel has a great location and easy access to town. They also have bikes!

Sarah was a super host and the location is fabulous.

High quality toiletries and linens. Very clean. Amazing walkability to the entire “Town” area of Nantucket with dozens of shops and restaurants. Easy pickup from Uber and 2 blocks away from the visitor’s center with a shuttle to Cisco brewery.

The hotel was charming. The staff superb. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend the hotel.
