Blue Iris by Life House

Property was recently renovated and is in gorgeous, pristine condition. Has all the latest amenities, which is unusual for many guest houses in Nantucket. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience, although expensive!

Not a place for kids or people looking for a full-service hotel, but terrific for singles or couples who are looking for a clean, comfortable, good-sized room with a boutique-y vibe. Excellent location for those who want to be on a quiet street while just a couple blocks from Main Street and the ferries. Very friendly staff too. Pricey for what is is, but that’s Nantucket.

I enjoyed my stay very much, in large, due to the kind, attentive, and knowledgeable staff; the ideal location in the center of town; and the beautiful design with impeccable attention to detail. The room was a bit smaller than I anticipated, which is my only criticism (otherwise would rate 5/5). As one of the newly renovated hotel’s first guests, there was limited current information or reviews to research the rooms/evaluate room size by pictures. This is as expected for a new place that will surely gain more reviews soon. The location was perfect! Everything in the main part of town was close by. There are a number of fantastic sites, shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, etc in walking distance. There is street parking available, but it is limited and time restricted. Most people get around by bicycle or by foot. The location around Blue Iris is clean, well maintained and safe. Blue Iris is beautifully designed with much attention to detail. There was the most pleasant fragrance in the hotel and lovely music playing in the background. The bed and sheets were very comfortable. It was nice to have the option of a small breakfast, coffee, and happy hour to mingle with others at the hotel. You cannot go wrong with a stay at Blue Iris. It was a great home away from home for my first stay in Nantucket. Thank you to the kind staff who made the stay extra enjoyable.
