IIK Tulum by The Spot Rentals

We liked the accommodation and the reception guys were nice/helpful/friendly but our experience was overshadowed by a single incident.

We rented bicycles from the accommodations suggested supplier after asking the reception. The bicycle guy asked for a 3000 peso deposit and once we return the bikes we would receive this money back into our bank account. No money came back into our account even after contacting the company and accommodation. Absolute scam. Would not come back due to this experience as the bike guy was recommended by the reception potentially making them explicit in this.

The staff at night was really helpful even don’t speak English, more helpful when compared to day staff. I locked my self outside my room, the key holder willing travel to the hotel at night to open the door for me. The self check in is helpful but I found it bit confusing, but day staff is there is help if you ask for it. Really good location from the Main Street with big supermarket, 7/11 and HSBC bank. Onsite car park is a plus, as taxis is expensive in Tulum. The main beach need beach club booking to access to the protected area with the car, if the hotel could recommend and assist booking and recommendations will be helpful, if took me is 1 1/2 to work out how to get in. Anyway there is many canote nearest by to visit.

As this is my first visit in Tulum, I enjoy my stay.
