La Maison Pondichéry

I liked the beautifully renovated room that I stayed in. Clean, a/c and fan, refrigerator, nice shower. Proximity to the French area - it’s located about 2 blocks on the Tamil side. A quick walk to the beach area. Flexibility of the staff to provide an earlier breakfast than the usual time.

The breakfast room needs some upgrading. The breakfast staff demanded a tip before I hade even eaten a few mouthfuls. Some training needed.

Charming room in a beautiful heritage house, close to the beach. Lovely breakfast and staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had a death in the family so had to cut our trip short but the staff were extremely helpful organising taxis for us and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Centrally located on Bussy Street, edge of French quarter (White Town…apparently named after the many coast side white buildings). Manager Dinish was incredibly helpful, arranged a personalised day tour at very reasonable rate, with Zak, both spoke good English.

Well, it’s traditional and old style. Breakfast was a little disappointing by western standards, lack of choice, though they did manage a simple omelette.

Location is excellent No professionalism / Cleanliness No In house restaurant not even a Cafe Towels and bed linen were Old Staff speak loudly and disturb guests early in the morning

The property is maintained very well. The rooms are spacious and the wardrobe was huge. Plus point were the number of hangers provided. The local women part of the cooking & cleaning staff were so adorable. A special thank you to Dinesh Singh for being a wonderful guide. He was our genie, making everything possible and ensuring that we enjoyed our stay.
