"Avoid the pain"

2.0

I had a horrible interaction with a hotel staff person there. She had hate in her heart and on her face. I didn’t enjoy being mistreated by an employee at the Clyde. Separately, there was no hot water for the entire stay and she was most certainly unapologetic. The neighborhood is sketchy and security there is nonexistent. I don’t recommend the Portland Clyde by Kasa.

"Not mad just disappointed"

2.0

Feels like a hostel. No front desk, security, or housekeeping presence feels a bit eerie and unsafe. There is keypad entry to both the building and rooms. The tv didn’t work, shower head in my room was mounted ridiculously low and after a 16-hour day I found that there was no hot water and they didn’t know when it would be back on. I walked to another hotel at 9pm and stayed elsewhere so I could simply take a hot shower. Won’t stay here again or recommend it. The photos and online presence are much nicer than the actual property.

"Come visit this gem!"

10.0

What a gem! Fun, funky boutique hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Loved all the little details in the room including beverages, white noise machine, claw foot bath tub, spacious room, and tokens to use at the adjacent coffee shop. Easy walking distance to great places in downtown Portland including Powell’s Book Store. Close by options for secure parking garages. Easy check in/out process. Building is secure after 10pm - use of a unique code gets you in at night.

Great place, clean room, and relatively safe area of downtown. Ashley at the front desk was super kind and got me checked in hours early so I didn’t have to wait!!

"The rich and the poor in harmony near every door."

10.0

Beautiful Hotel. A blast from the past in the heart of Portland OR. Hotel staff are amazing to work with. Parking on 12 Street was easy too. Take your parking ticket with you and scan your ticket at the Whole Foods Market for a big discount on the parking fee. Great food.

This place was the best for our little date night. Super cute room, and very easy to get in and out and feel like you have your own little privacy. It was amazing.

"For young travelers and city explorers!"

10.0

Amazing location for young travelers. It's right in the downtown area and close to a lot of attractions in the city. Self check-in was very easy and staff were available for you at the front desk which is very convenient. We had the King Suite and oh boy! What an amazing stay! Very pleasant smell down the hallway and into the room. Bath tub was clean, living room was huge, bed was comfortable and the view of the city was spectacular! The cafe attached to the hotel was very convenient for a to-go morning coffee and pastry. Lobby area was huge and play room was an easy access for guests waiting. I would definitely recommend booking here if you're up for an adventure!

"Did not live up to expectations or match online images."

4.0

Unfriendly staff who seemed annoyed when asked for common amenities like ice. My partner requested a bottle of champagne be in the room when booking and received a confirmation from staff they would be able to accommodate his gratis. No bottle was in the room on check in. My car was broken into across the street and when I asked the attendant if they had cameras for filing the police report their response was "that's why we told you not to do street parking". A wholely unprofessional and unnecessary response not relevant to the question. I double checked my email confirmation and there was no mention about avoiding street parking. Only that they recommended a garage down the way. The room was bare bones yet serviceable. Double the salary of your photographer because they portrayed the rooms as much warmer and more inviting than they were in reality. The lobby had a chic vibe and nice styling. Two tokens were provided in lieu of coffee options in the room or the lobby. These tokens offered a discount at the adjoining coffee shop which had great coffee. Yet we had two people for two nights and it didn't substitute for basic amenities. Would not recommend. Pay a few bucks more and stay at the McMenamins down the road.

Totally enjoyed my stay at this quirky hotel. It was perfect for me in every way. It may not be for everyone, definitely not a cookie cutter hotel room, but I found it cozy. I enjoyed soaking in the clawfoot tub after a long day of traveling. The bed was comfortable. The coffee shop attached to the lobby was good and very convenient. It was an easy walk to most things I planned to do and transportation options were easy to access when needed.
