Great Gatsby Motel Inn

Location was perfect for our family gathering. Private beach access was a real plus. Decor was interesting and unique. Immediate response to major issue we had.

Bathroom very small and tight, very stained rug and most importantly, when we arrived back after our evening events one of our two rooms had water all over the floor. A room was found to replace it but moving with a toddler at 11pm was definitely not fun and our bags that were on floor were wet as well.

Love this place, great place to rest your head from a great day at beach which is included with room that is walking distance across the street next to an amazing restaurant and bar just a wonderful place to stay room has a very nice bathroom with robes in room ac works fantastic and the mid size refrigerator kept everything cold the rooms are dressed as the great Gatsby with many different color rooms we had the blue room, room 2. We Will definitely be staying again, Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This motel met our basic needs and had so much character !!!!

The room was spotless and beautifully decorated.

The room was on the small side and did not have a closet, so a few more shelves for luggage storage would have been helpful.

The decor

We were really excited to stay here, overall the room was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful over the phone and text. Room and bathroom were clean. Bed was clean with lovely soft sheets and comforter. Cute Gatsby embroidered pillows that were available to purchase as a keepsake, as well as robes and towels. Beautiful lake view. Thank you for the overall stay and experience!

I was disappointed to see that the rooms decor was different from the photos online and no mention of possible changes to the rooms decor. The chandelier was different, beading behind the headboard was gone and no rug. Upon arrival we settled in and went to turn on the fire tv and the remote batteries were dead. I talked to management and it was taken care of right away, but when I asked about the different decor from the online photos, she said the rug was getting cleaned because it smelled, and the chandelier was damaged. Okay that’s fine, just wished the online photos stated the rooms decor has possible changes. Looking through other reviews I saw the same room I stayed in was the same decor from a year ago. So I was disappointed and felt like false advertising of the room.

There was no staff at the property. There was no internet service (though when contacted, the management said to try to log on to the adjacent rooms - which didn’t work,). They would not come to fix the problem. There was no maid service.

Of all of the places I've stayed where there wasn't someone at the front desk, this was by far the smoothest. The check-in procedure was clearly communicated via email and text, and it was easy to get into the room upon arrival. While the motel was clearly a decades-old structure, a great deal of care was taken to class it up with the Great Gatsby theme and branding. The TV had a Roku, which meant that we could access all of our streaming services. And the WiFi was decent and easy to use.

The only real downside was that the room uses a mini-split heater/AC. We were in town in early April for the solar eclipse, which is still quite chilly in the Adirondacks. The unit was VERY noisy, and kicked on and off throughout the night. Our eventual solution was to kick up and get the room nice and toasty, and then shut it off all together for the night. After that, it was easy to get to sleep; without light pollution outdoors the room was nice and dark!
