Guild House Hotel

Lovingly restored building with wonderful detailing yet with modern functioning utilities. A most pleasant experience. Drawbacks - a few external ones. The building is on an unattractive street next to a parking lot and a garage and inhabited by a few unhoused persons. Still the surrounding area beyond this one block is quite nice. And there is nowhere to buy sodas or snacks nearby. There is an informal restaurant/bar around the corner, but it is cash only and does not open until 9:00 AM.We would most definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

Space was beautiful and comfortable. Clean.

There is a common area that guests can use as a lounge. There was a guest using this space like his own office and decided to set up directly outside the door to our room. It was off putting.

It was decorated well. The bldg was stylish and historical. So what centrally located.

Off site parking. Dicey area and having to log on to phone to get digits to get into door. No staff inside (a concern due to the number of folks lingering outside the bldg). Most terrible and uncomfortable bed— saggy and impossible to rest in. As a woman traveling alone I felt unsafe and concerned about bldg security. Def not the experience I was hoping for. I did not feel safe staying at or accessing this property.

If you like places with no staff, this was a nice place. It is a well furnished historic building in a lively area. However, our room had no windows at all and the floorboards creaked loudly which was inconvenient for getting up in the middle of the night.

The bathroom was not well cleaned, found hair in and around the shower. The lack of a reception really downgraded the experience especially for the price. When I called the help line, nobody picked up and when I texted questions it would take over an hour to respond.

This is a beautiful property and the vibes are immaculate.

I picked this hotel for the atmosphere the designers have curated. It delivered and then some - our bathroom in the Martha room was huge, daylight plenty, and I absolutely adored the velvet headboards. Sparkling and still water on tap throughout the building. It was one of the most comfortable, stylish stays I've had recently.

It took a little bit for the concierge to circle back for 2 requests we made. Since it's an unstaffed hotel, you must call or text the concierge. It honestly wasn't that much time that passed; the requests were just somewhat time sensitive.

Room Florence was beautiful!! The ceilings must have been 20 feet high. The bed and pillows were super comfy. I’m used to seeing on Expedia if the room had no windows on the main page. I quickly glanced at the pictures and didn’t catch it was windowless. The main concern was not setting an alarm so had no point of reference what time it was by lighting. I looked at my phone often during the night. We didn’t receive our complimentary bottle of wine but not a big concern but was missed. The dumb waiter wasn’t working to bring bags up to the secure room. The location was perfect. The communication was excellent and not having an on-site reception works well. The one tap sparkling water and still was super convenient. A beautiful property so would stay again. Thank you for your hospitality.

The guild house was easy to find, staff was great, and the accommodations were marvelous

There wasn't anything we didn't like except that we were only there for 1 night.
