SACRED STONE Boutique Hotel

O quarto era bom. Sofremos como barulho do rio a noite toda. Mas sei que em todos são assim. A recepção é muito precária, poderia ser mais atraente. Café da manhã era bom. Atendimento também foi bom

The hotel is great

It was very easy to get to, being adjacent to the railway line, and a very short walk from the centre of Aguas Callientes and the buses that transport visitors to Machu Picchu. The staff were extremely friendly and the manager in particular collected us on arrival AND took us to the railway station when departing. Hot omelettes for breakfast, just ask.

The river runs right behind the property and is loud at night. Luckily we wore earplugs to sleep. There is no elevator so carrying suitcases up 6 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor wasn't fun. Basic rooms that did the job.

Nothing to like.

Avoid. Old, dirty, moldy room with urine and mildew smelling bathroom. This inn is rated on Booking.com as a three star property-I can’t see how. My husband and I have traveled all over the world, for 15 years, staying at hostels and hotels at all price points. We have never encountered a location that was as filthy and repulsive as the Sacred Stone Hotel. We stayed one night, got sick from the mold (they keep the windows open so you don’t smell it strongly until you’ve paid and shut the windows for the night) and had to forfeit our second night so we can go sleep at a different hotel. Traveling with two kids (5,8) and 2 adults. Avoid.

Fit for purpose. The rooms are fairly basic but location is great and staff excellent.

It was in a good location and it was affordable.

The area was moist (the city itself) so the rooms felt a bit dingy. This could be because of the age of the building, which all buildings seemed the same age so perhaps this is common in the area.

the staff were super friendly, and hospitable and tried to do the best they could to make our stay the best. They were amazing people. Breakfast was okay, small buffet table, but the staff cooked you eggs (only one). They could extend the breakfast time for the month of April.

The room smelled bad (humidity) since the first moment I stepped in. The hotel/ rooms are close to the river but this isn't an excuse for the room's smell. It was very strong and I felt that my clothes were feeling different. Photos really represent what you get. It's well located and cheap, with amazing staff. Unfortunately the rooms need a humidifier or the whole building needs some work to avoid this smell.

Location was great for getting around on foot. Loved the sound of the river nearby. Staff was warm. welcoming and genuine.

That this site does not adjust for Canadian dollars and it is always a surprise upon arrival that it is not the price I booked at and that the dollar slides according to the date of arrival not the date booked.

Amazing location, right by river , sound of it all day was relaxing. Staff was so kind. Hotel clean and comfortable. Walking distance to bus n train by a few blocks
