Cambria Hotel Portland Downtown Old Port

Super comfortable, dog friendly hotel located close to all of Old Port. The beds were comfy, the room was clean and quiet, and it was a great price!

We Love the Cambria Hotel in Portland Maine.. Very close to the Water.. Shops and Restaurants... Rooms are Large and Very Comfortable.. Great Breakfast and Bar adjacent to the Front Desk.. Fantastic Staff... Shout out to Neesa who greeted us and remembered us from our last trip... Always greets you with a Warm Smile and Very Helpful... We also had Great Service at Breakfast from Savannah! She was incredibly accommodating and very good conversation... We Highly Recommend the Portland Cambria Hotel!

I stayed at the Cambria Hotel in Portland, Maine twice in October, and both times the experience was great. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly and professional — exactly what you’d hope for in a downtown Portland hotel. I liked the hotel so much that I decided to book another stay with them for December. That said, the booking process left me frustrated. When comparing rates online versus over the phone at the same time, the prices were misleading. The online rate appeared cheaper per night, but once service fees were added, it ended up costing the same — which doesn’t make sense and feels a bit deceptive. On top of that, after calling to confirm a rate, I was transferred to a Choice Hotels representative offering 250 points. Even after politely saying multiple times that I wasn’t interested in any promotions, the rep kept pushing in a very “salesy” way. It got to the point where I had to firmly say I wasn’t doing anything today multiple times before he stopped — and even then, he abruptly hung up without a simple thank you. They should respect my decision of saying no especially after multiple declines were given. Overall, I do recommend the Cambria Hotel for the stay itself — it’s clean, stylish, and in a great location. But the corporate side of Choice Hotels really needs to rethink how they handle pricing transparency and customer interactions. It’s a shame because the hotel team itself does such a good job.
