CDQI Hotel

Conveniently located in downtown & easily accessible by public transit but vicinity is festered by the homeless, mentally challenged & beggars. Room is clean & quiet. Face towels were tattered & should be replaced. A handyman is urgently needed to fix those kitchen cabinet doors that are broken/misaligned. Electrical receptacle cover plates are cracked, fridge door (upper) cannot be closed properly. Window latch need to be fixed. Need to walk up stairs to units. Not suitable for those with heavy luggage or difficulty in walking stairs. The stairs were not clean either. It is unclear 1) why an iron was provided but no ironing board found inside the room; or 2) if the supplies inside the big wood cabinet outside the room are for patrons’ free use. The terms & conditions laid out in detail about the patrons’ responsibilities & liabilities about the damages but there was no mentioning about the hotelier’s responsibilities at all. For example, is it safe to use the leftover food, such as, oil etc. How long the hotelier will store/dispose our personal records? There was no checklist provided for patrons to verify exactly what’s provided & condition against the actual numbers/condition. The terms & conditions are totally biased in favour of the hotelier.

Dirty dingy no service and no parking No elevator very uncomfortable bed smelled

It was incredibly hot in the room, with no portable fan as advertised, and no way to open a window. There was an air conditioning unit mounted on the wall but did not have a remote or any buttons to then it on. I texted the number provided for help, but never got an answer. The bathroom was very small - awkward to sit and get up from the toilet. Lots of stairs to get to Room #11. Otherwise all other aspects of the stay were good - the bed was nice, sheets were clean, "living" area was big. There was even chips and pop upon arrival, a very nice touch. Overall a decent place for a night out downtown at a fair price.

Hôtel situé dans une des rues centrales d’Ottawa. Nous avons aimé la facilité d’accès au logement, sans services d’accueil. Toutefois, nous avions des appréhensions concernant le fait qu’en cas de coupure d’électricité, les dispositifs électroniques d’accès ne fonctionnent pas. Nous avons eu une chambre plutôt miteuse, avec de la moisissure dans les murs et le plafond. La mise en place du plancher est inachevée, et il y a de gros trous et craques dans lesquels on peut facilement trébucher ou se blesser les pieds en se déplaçant dans la chambre. La cuisine fonctionne bien, et il y a quelques ustensiles et de la vaisselle disponibles. Toutefois, le ventilateur de la hotte de cuisine fait un bruit d’enfer ! La salle de bains semble inachevée et mar réparée. On voit de grosses craques dans les joints maladroitement installés. Pour avoir l’eau chaude, il faut ouvrir les robinets et attendre environ 10 minutes. 10 longues minutes quand on est pressé et qu’on a un rendez-vous important. Nous avons dû tout faire dans l’urgence par la suite, pour rattraper ces minutes perdues. Dans la rue sous la fenêtre de notre chambre, il y avait un énorme lampadaire qui a gardé la chambre bien éclairée toute la nuit. Les rideaux ne sont pas opaques ! Les murs et le plafond de ce bâtiment ne sont pas isolés. Nous avons donc entendu toute la nuit les bruits de la ville, les passants qui discutent dans la rue, les junkies qui chantent et crient, les voitures, etc. Nous ne recommandons pas.

Zimmer war groß und modern eingerichtet und eine Küchenzeile mit Ausstattung war vorhanden. Dem Bodenleger hatte hier wohl keinen Meterstab da zwischen jeder Laminatdiele ein größerer Spalt war. Das Zimmer war leider etwas Hellhörig sodass wir dem Liebesspiel der Nachbarn lauschen "durften". Das Bad ist normal groß mit Dusche und war sehr sauber. Snacks wie Chips, Cola und Wasser würden gratis bereit gestellt.

The property was nicely put together. Definitely older but renovated. Windows can be thicker to block out the downtown hustle and bust. The suite was well equipped with essentials. Food and shopping was very convenient, however only street parking was available. But if timed properly you can park for free.

Safe, clean, and location is great with walking distance to foods, groceries, shopping. The unit has basic needs covered, like dishes, utensils, basic cookware. Giant Tiger, Dollarama and the shopping mall is very nearby for most anything else. Small basket of snacks was a lovely touch. Small bathroom but there is lots of space in the living area. And good wi-fi signal. the few times I needed to contact (via text) I received very prompt replies.

Water pressure in the shower was too low and not warm enough

In the shower, no warm water no matter how long you run it and no pressure. Handle from the shower door fell off, curtains did not block light enough to sleep. The room was constantly noisy with street scream, slamming doors to the building and different rooms at all hours. Chromecast didnt have a controller so not point in using the tv. Basically a poor AirBnB pretending to be a "suite". No parking as well.

Convenient location. Quick and easy check in. Trouble free stay. Floor showed some age and was a bit dirty but bed was clean and comfortable. Some street noise but otherwise quiet.
