Rodina - Hotel Boutique

The location was good.

There's no physical check-in or frontdesk. We had an issue with the automatic main door (it's password accessed), they gave us the wrong password, but fortunately it was solved quickly when we called the hotel number.

Fantastic location, easy to walk everywhere. Cute little hotel with lovely decor. It was a nice comfortable place to sleep. We spent our day out exploring town. The host was really lovely and sent some great advice on restaurants in the area, she was really responsive and helpful, easy to contact via whatsapp. We only stayed 2 nights and it was very comfortable.

If staying for a longer time it would probably be worth booking one of the rooms with a balcony and window. The room we had was totally fine for our short stay, but without any window to the outside it was very dark in the day and not the type of place you'd want to just relax in when tired from being out exploring.

Cozy spotless room, lovely inner court, quiet and has everything you need for a short stay. Very nice people working there in the morning. Don't miss the street food stall around the corner (take right at the hotel street and then take a left and walk a few blocks) - it's incredible. We didn't go to the beach club as it's not our thing.

Nothing, but I want to emphasize that there's no elevator and reception: you self check in and manage on your own. We are used to it, so it's not a problem for us though.

Noisy

Really friendly team that manage the hotel - Andrea and her team were great at communication and always looking to ensure we had a brilliant time. The hotel is small, which is really nice, and located away from the noise and bustle of the main Quinta Avenida strip. It has a lovely small pool, although we didn’t use it as we went to the public beach Playa 38. The team actively sought our feedback on how the experience could be improved for future guests, which is always a great thing. The commentary water and coffee in the reception was a nice touch, and everywhere was kept really clean.

Unfortunately and totally out of the hotel’s control, one of the local neighbours has a couple of noisy dogs who come alive at around 9pm to midnight. The hotel provides ear plugs to help combat this.
