Auld Sweet Olive Bed and Breakfast

My 17 year old daughter and I had a lovely stay here for two nights. I forgot what it's like to stay at a real bed and breakfast - had a lovely connection with another guest over delicious blueberry pancakes. And after a very sweaty walk in the NOLA July heat we returned for a refreshing dip in the pool! It was the best. The host was warm and lovely; very attentive and a great cook! Definitely returning with other dear ones!

As a NOLA native, I know that a quiet place to sleep in a vibrant neighborhood is something like a unicorn. This charming bed and breakfast in the Marigny did not disappoint. My room was clean, comfy and quiet as was the private bathroom. The shared spaces had a nice vibe with interesting artwork and lots of books. I felt at home relaxing on the front porch. The innkeeper was really sweet and attentive. Breakfast and coffee exceeded expectations. I don't bring cars when i travel to New Orleans because I see them as unnecessary in the city. This neighborhood has it all within walking distance. There is a food co-op across the street and several coffee shops, bars, and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. When I got hungry, I just walked in one direction until something smelled good. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sweet Olive and intend to stay there when I return.

Amazing: Great location, amazing accommodations. Kate is such a great host. The breakfast was so good and she gave so many great recommendation, We are local and were able to experience new places!

Comfy, home-like, welcoming and in a quiet neighborhood. Lovely vintage feel. And Jonell spoiled us with homemade breakfasts that included frittata, blueberry pancakes, and perfect bacon. Would stay again!!!

Beautiful place. Great host. Nice location. The bed and breakfast is only a 5-7 minute drive to French Quarter yet it's far enough away that noise wasn't an issue at all for those who like quiet nights and quiet mornings. My daughter and I walked to several restaurants in the area and we also stopped by the Co-op a few times. A must try restaurant for breakfast (within walking distance) is Who Dat Cafe. Everything was delicious. I plan to visit New Orleans again and I would definitely stay here again.

The location

The shower was way too small for a normal size person, and the bed was too hard. I had to kill a very large roach my first night, but didn’t see any more the other nights, but I did leave the lights on.

We choose to come and stay here the week of our honeymoon recently and it was one of the best decisions we had ever made. Kate and her friends and family are so hospitable, and really helped make two slightly nervous Mid-westerners feel right at home. She had the best food and sight-seeing suggestions while also being a tremendous cook. Don't ever miss her breakfast! Its organically sourced and excellent quality! The bed and breakfast is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood and is only a quick walk to the French Quarter or bus stop. The facilities are excellently maintained and they seem to have extras of everything you might ever forget to pack by accident. All in all, we have already recommended this B&B to many of our couple friends, and we hope to be back soon again ourselves. Do yourself a favor and book now!

We are locals who chose to stay there the night of our wedding on May 31 and it was definitely the right choice! The Courtyard Suite is so private and opens up right onto the pool area, beautiful! The courtyard is so peaceful with birds and butterflies and lovely landscaping. Kate is wonderful and so accommodating! I highly recommend staying at the Auld Sweet Olive B&B.

Kate was amazing! She was extremely friendly and welcoming. She gave us some suggestions on places to visit and provided excellent customer service throughout our stay. The house is quaint and well taken care of. The photos don’t do it justice.

Kate and Steve are the best. Kate is so hospitable and her blueberry bread is amazing. Steve is so helpful and great company. Plus the place is so nice and the interior is comfortable and beautiful. The pool area is gorgeous. Coming here again next time around.
