"Great place to relax at very reasonable price."

8.0

The funky setting, over the top decor, great swimming pool, and friendly staff.

Location was challenging unless you have a car. Trevor, the owner, was a wonderful host but his coordination of hosting guests and managing special events at Amaria Villas created some confusion.

"Stay in nature party quirkiness"

8.0

Beautiful nature around the accomodation. In walking distance is really nice river. Big pool, big enough for swimming. It was heated! It is possible to use it during the day time and after dark as well!! :) The area of the guesthouse is much bigger than it seems from the photos. The terrace on top of each villa is awesome place to relax. Enough shade everywhere. No need for AC, our room was cool enough all day. The room was relatively clean, the shower had constant hot water and water pressure. Kitchen had everything necessary to cook simple meals. We shopped before we got to the location, because my diet is quite specific. There is some small shops in 15-20 minutes walk, but do not really offer a lot of choices. Place offers interesting vibe - combined theme of nature, quirkiness and party. It feels like it is very welcoming to everyone, especially LGBT community. FOOD Hotel offers restaurant with reasonable prices. However, most of the food on the menu seems to be processed food/ unfrozen food. There is also a small restaurant by the river within 20 minutes walk from the guestshouse, and also a restaurant on the top of the hill, where the bridge is. WIFI Wifi worked great. In the room and on the terrace as well. LOCATION AND GETTING THERE: Outside of Puerto Vallarta main center - if you want to experience surroundings of PVR. To get there we used uber app - the cost is about 200 - 300 pesos. To get out of there back to PVR, we used transfer service the guesthouse provided - the price is 300 pesos. We planned on just staying in the jungle, so the remoted location was not an issue for us. To get to the city center/ beaches takes about 30 - 40 minutes. Also, in 15-20 minutes walking distance, there is a bus stop. Bus is running every 15 minutes from morning until evening, cost for one way is 10 pesos. I do think that the hotel could provide option of transfer to and from the bus stop, for small additional charge.

Our queen bed felt more like double bed and for me personally was quite soft and not very comfortable to sleep on. However, this is a personal preference. There are no window screens and there is some insect, so I was not able to leave windows open as much as I wanted to. Outside lounges, chairs, tables, sunbeds would welcome some cleaning, as they were dusty. Some sunbeds were broken. There are 3 dogs on the property. More frequent cleanup after the dogs would be desirable, so we dont have to walk around their poop whole morning or all day. Dogs favorite area to do what they need to do is the grassy area under the Tower. I mentioned it once, then I gave up. We got bitten - could be from the jungle insect or ?from fleas? - I did a quick google research, the bites look like they could be flea bites. However, after few days they were gone. On our arrival we found in our room envelope with bold letters "TIPS". That makes us feel like the hospitality industry does not work for the satisfaction of the guests, but to get more money out of their guests, who already made a choice to spend 3 nights of their vacation at this place over some other place. The guesthouse has a great story of its owners and its history, and a Welcome Letter with mentioning of "if you like to support our project"... would be much more welcoming. Overall, we had a good time in Amaria Villas and wish Trevor and his team all the best with the future of their project :)

"Peaceful and relaxing"

9.0

It was calm and relaxing, perfect for a short escape from the city center. My bed was very comfortable and I could enjoy the garden-light-show through the window. The pool area was comfortable too. The place is full of art and very pretty.

"Will return!!!"

Beautiful, spacious, well maintained, clean. Great heated pool. Built with imagination and love.

Food selection and execution could use some work. Wasn’t consistent. But taste was fine.

Twisting through the jungle, and arriving at Amaria is like finding a magic world. Trevor and his team welcome you with warmth and you'll instantly feel at home here. Delicious food, icy cocktails, and float in the warm pool for hours. I left Amaria Villas buy wantrd to stay. My dog, Annie made friends here, and so did I. My bed was fantastically comfy. And I didn't even mention the one-of-a-kind weekly show!

Cel signal doesn't reach up here. So everything is 10-15 mins away. Not a big problem.

"Will be back! ✨"

10.0

The staff was excellent. The quesadillas were yummy. And the jungle view was stunning!

Personally, I love dogs. But it is to be noted that there are three large ā€œoutsideā€ dogs that live on the property. They are very friendly. And they WILL approach you.
