One South Place Hotel

The owners and staff are amazing. They were extremely attentive and concerned about me and my husband each day. It felt like a loving family! Everything was clean, fresh, and presentable. The Sea view balcony was wonderful and will be missed!

Our stay was perfect. The room was exactly as described. The area is located by the ferry, many restaurants and was very quiet and safe. The owners are very helpful as well. Highly recommend.

We truly enjoyed our stay! The hotel is very well located and near to everything including the ferry. It was quiet, calm and beautifully decorated. Judy was awesome! got us a car rental last minute. It was our first time in Belize and she made us feel welcomed and comfortable. I cant wait to see Judy again!

Where to start…. First of all, Belize was amazing. My wife and I were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary. We stumbled upon a very reasonable air and hotel package through Expedia and noticed at One South Place Hotel the number of 5 star reviews it had received and after reading a few we thought we would give it a try. My wife had been in constant contact with Ms. Judy about a month prior to our arrival regarding things for us to do and helping us set up tours and travel arrangements during our stay. Ms. Judy helped us arrange, taxi service from the airport to the hotel, a day exploring the Mayan ruins, cave tubing, a day with a guide hiking the howling monkey sanctuary and gave us much needed information regarding Belize City as to where to eat and what parts to stay away from at certain times. Mr David her husband, was just as fantastic as a host. Mr David also has some deep Belizean family ties that makes him knowledgeable and well respected within the community. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with hugs and immediately felt at home. The hotel is just a block from the ocean and a few blocks from the water taxi. It’s centrally located in downtown and within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping areas. The hotel itself is amazing and after touring the city, I felt it was probably one of the nicest hotels in the area. The rooms are clean and all located upstairs above the cafe on the ground level. One of my favorite parts of the hotel was the cafe/lobby area. Every morning (except Sundays) they have breakfast and lunch available if you want to sit down and eat or you can take some Johnny Cakes or waffles on the go. The food is prepared fresh in house and much of it is Belizean cuisine that is to die for. I am a foodie and love to eat, you won’t be disappointed. They have a cooler in the lobby full of beer, sodas, water, fresh juices that are priced better than the supermarket that is just a few blocks away. The staff is unbelievable! Everyone is so personable and committed to making sure you have an excellent experience. Ms Judy and Mr David truly made our stay and vacation beyond amazing. They both went out of their way to make sure we had a good time and didn’t expect anything in return. We had such an amazing time that we plan on coming back in 6 months with our kids. I honestly can’t put into words the experience we had with Ms Judy and Mr David. They are salt of the earth people and we are fortunate to have met them. I am confident we will remain friends and I look forward until the next time we are in Belize City. If you have made it through my long winded review, do yourself a favor and book at One South Place Hotel. BELIZE ME, it will be money well spent.

Everyone was super helpful and friendly, giving us good advice about what to see, where to eat, and how to stay safe. Rooms were not huge but certainly adequate. If you are going to stay overnight in Belize City, we would highly recommend staying here.

The absolute best staff you’ll ever find. Beautiful hotel with darling rooms and balconies. David and Judy go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. From the ease of booking to checkout this hotel is unmatched. If I could give 100 stars I would. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

This place is a true gem in Belize City. The minute I walked in, was welcome by the entire staff. I instantly felt like I was home and felt safe. The whole property is secure, quite clean and the garden-flowers are just gorgeous. The room was just the perfect size, as well as the bathroom, The bed was very comfortable and clean. The property has beautiful landscaping so very well kept. The food is delicious as well as the drinks. If you have special dietary needs, just ask and they will do anything to meet them. Everybody is very helpful and friendly. If you need help with booking a tour they will do that for you, and if you have any questions just ask, they are more than happy to help you or refer you to the person who can. One South Place Hotel is close to the water taxi, only 10 minute walk, as well 5 minute walk to the grocery store. I highly recommend One South Place👍

The owners and staff are helpful, hospital wonderful people. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They also try to help you figure out all aspects of your stay in the beautiful country of Belize. I traveled solo and felt very comfortable.
