One South Place Hotel

What a Charming and Excellent Hotel to stay in! My wife immediately fell in love with this place! Definitely recommend this lovely place. The Staff is friendly and professional! The decor is nicely done, comfortable bed, just a great place to stay.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at One South Place, and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish. The service at One South Place was exceptional. Everyone from the security guards through to the owners were friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay as pleasant as possible. They went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of, especially the owners Judy and David. Our room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated with all the modern amenities you could need, including good wifi and air-conditioning. The attention to detail in preserving the building’s historic charm while ensuring contemporary comfort is impressive. We ended up chatting with David in the lobby, learning about the history of the building and this part of Belize. He also called in a food order delivery for us, which we enjoyed on our balcony. It was just what we needed for the night! If you’re looking for a comfortable and intimate stay in Belize City, One South Place is a hidden gem that should be at the top of your list. Its perfect blend of historical elegance, modern amenities, and outstanding service make it a standout choice for any traveler. We wish we could have stayed here longer!

My fiancé Jim booked us a stay at One South Place Hotel over Valentines this year and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. If I were to recommend anywhere to stay while in the city (despite the bigger hotels) I’d recommend this little bed and breakfast. They went above and beyond by decorating as well as putting a beautiful bouquet in the room for us. David and his wife along with staff were the epitome of hospitable and welcoming. I couldn’t be happier with our time there. Clean room, amazing view of the sea for a beautiful sunset, beds and pillows were perfect, shower pressure was good, and it was quiet. The bonus…the restaurant/cafe had the best Johnny cakes/breakfast I’ve tasted in the city. Chefs kiss indeed. Thank you David and family for such beautiful memories.

We were only in Belize City for one night before our flight home. One South Place is a ten minute walk from the ferry, if you choose the walk right along the water it's more scenic than the main street through town. The hotel is cute, very well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and you won't find friendlier people. They arranged for a taxi to the airport in the morning for us.Our bed was comfortable, the AC was perfect, bathroom spacious. Espresso machine and pods in the room, and a beautiful balcony to enjoy morning coffee. There's a good restaurant, River Bar & Grill five minutes walk away. I highly recommend this boutique hotel.

David, Lincoln and Erica were exceptional! Great recommendations, able to facilitate transportation and help with activities, provided excellent service in an elegant yet homely hotel. Water taxi’s are walking distance away, as well as shopping/grocery and restaurant options. WiFi and AC work great. Highly recommend.

Best hotel I had. The host is so nice and thoughtful and help me with anything I need, including finding food, transport, travel advise. First to Belize without preparation and I did not worry at all. One night I walked back at 6~7 and the staff is waiting for me at door, worrying I was missing.(I just go out to grab dinner)

One South Place was clean, quiet, and felt like home from the moment I pulled up. Met a couple guests that were passing through the city and we shared many laughs out on the front porch area over some cold Belikins that were sold on site. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming as well. Taxi service was always a phone call away and the breakfast was fresh and delicious, especially the fried jacks. Both Lincoln the day security and Mark the night security were top notch down to earth and both willing to assist with any guest needs. Mark and Lincoln shared a lot of history on the country of Belize and many laughs as well. I Made some true memories and had an unforgettable time. Lastly, David the owner was also very hospitable and was always there to assist with any needs and welcomed and treated his guests as family. Staying at One South Place will not disappoint.

One South Place is a small property in a central location for walking to shops and some attractions. My guest room was lovely, really nicely decorated and clean. I traveled solo and had some work to get done during my stay, so I wanted a small and quiet hotel and One South Place was perfect for what I wanted to do during my visit to Belize. The staff are helpful and friendly and really look out for safety of guests. Co-owner David is passionate about operating the hotel and I noticed seems to stay informed about how guests are doing. David helped me get a tour set up (my scheduled tour was canceled by the tour operator due to minimum of 2 persons policy not met to operate the tour). There is a cafe at the property where breakfast and lunch are served, but not dinner, and I enjoyed the meals I had at the cafe but the menu selections were limited. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at One South Place.
