One South Place Hotel

The people were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were nice and clean.

This small hotel is a unique conversion of an old house and is a “labor of love” by the owner. It has beautiful mahogany woodwork, tile floors and artwork in the rooms. It has a common area veranda where it’s nice to sit and feel the sea breeze and listen to bird calls. The hotel is close to downtown attractions including historic buildings, museum, the water taxi to nearby islands and a few eating and drinking places. The owner and his staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive to their guests. This place is a gem!

This property is so quaint and nice. Dave and his wife are simply fantastic hoteliers. The team was incredibly attentive, even Mark, the overnight guard was the friendliest person. I highly recommend this place as your headquarters while in Belize City. Very close to the Ferry so it's easy if you're going to spend a couple of days in San Pedro or Caulker Caye. I can't wait to go back and stay longer because we spent the bulk of our time in San Pedro and only got one night at One South Place. We loved it so much our cousin and her friend are going next month based on our recommendation!

Wonderful place and even more wonderful owner and staff who went above and beyond to make our one night stay stress free. Very quaint and cozy little hotel. Room was very clean and modern with lots of amenities. Bed was very comfortable. Area felt very safe and secure, gated with very friendly onsite security. We just happened to stay over Easter weekend when, unbeknownst to us, pretty much everything is closed. The owner David came in on his first day off in one year and drove us and another guest to one of the only open restaurants in town and picked us up afterward since the taxi services were also not open. The next day he stored our luggage for us after check out while we went exploring before our flight that night. He was very easy to contact, so kind and genuine, and made us feel like we were family. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Overall excellent place for few days stay. Very friendly staff, quiet comfortable room, very pleasant outdoor space and great food. We were very happy with our choice. Not that much to do around the area but can get taxi to go to places. Morning walk by the water is pleasant.

Upon arriving into Belize, we had no cell phone service. We were taxi to our hotel. Once we arrived, we met with Erica at the front desk. She was so helpful I can’t even say enough good things. We hadn’t eaten all day and had no cell phone service and being new to Belize. We were kind of scared to walk around and get lost. She brought us to go get something to eat and then brought us to the cell phone store later on we spoke with the security guard, everyone here is so friendly. The rooms are, super clean, a really small, quiet hotel with your own patio, mini fridge, safe, Wi-Fi, and in room personal AC that blows super cold lol and you could see the ocean from it. I would highly recommend One SouthPlace Hotel if you are staying in Belize city and want of view of the ocean. Later on, we did venture out and walk to a store, which is like two blocks away.

Mr. Lincoln. Ms. Melissa. And Ms. Erica made my stay wonderful. Attentive. Friendly. Gracious. I was able to walk around downtown to shop. I visited St John’s cathedral for 8:30 service. The bricks and books store where I got a wealth of history and delicious ice coffee. Delicious breakfast at Megs Corner. Tacos and drinks at Old River bar n grill. I took a water taxi to Caye Caulker. Wonderful trip to Belize. I loved One South Place’s home feel. Thank you very much.
