The Van Zant House

Nothing except that it was the Van Zant House

from the moment we arrived late evening it was Dark and Scary, the entrance was through the porch which was open and unsecured which had the Imitation Grass like carpet which stunk so Bad from the rain water and of course the Entrance door was in that porch with Dirty piece of wet carpet, the porch could not be closed properly nor did it have any Lock. House was very run down needed a lot of fixing NO CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONER FLOOR UNIT IN THE BEDROOM WAS IN THE WAY OF WALKING AROUND THE BEDROOM , was in bathroom was clogging all the time.

The pleasure and fortune of being able to stay in a historical landmark.

Nice quiet place to get work done or relax. Seemed to be a safe neighborhood with multiple stores and restaurants within a 10 min drive.

The history was so cool. I’m sure the main house would’ve been a better experience but we still had a good time in the annex

No central air, it was so hot. It was moldy due to the heat and the old stand up ac unit. Other than that it was pretty cool

Dishes provided by the owner are good...

It’s not very clean, the rooms are damp, there are a lot of insects, we lost 2-3 hours of time for killing and cleaning the house from insects, it’s a pity that I didn’t take pictures of all this, I have never seen so many insects in a residential building, the refrigerator was filled with insects, they also cleaned it, the owner was not friendly, because I wrote to him about all the inconveniences, he constantly arose that I write a lot, but if it were good I wouldn’t write, he doesn’t understand it, the house looks very old and not well maintained, but inside everything is normal, the only thing they need to do is clean the house from insects and dry it, because it is damp there, and it is more friendly to be with the guests

The place was very cheap, but the cleaning expenses was extremely high. The living room and kitchen were exactly what was expected.

For then to say this was a 2 bedroom with 3 beds was an extreme exaggeration. You could clearly see that they bricked in the front porch and a trolly bed that is 5 inches off the ground is not a 3rd bed for an adult. Also, the flies and mosquitoes were out of control. The “screened in porch “ kept all the flies and mosquitos locked In ready to flood the house as soon as you open the entrance door.

The place was cheap and was clean . It was also in a very central location.

Mosquitoes Mosquitoes Mosquitoes oh my GOD I was tore up!! Also, this booking is not for 4 adults. I booked it again (sight unseen) just for our layover from end of cruise to flight home. And my family is still fussing at me. The rooms are a fenced in front porch. This was a last minute cheap choice

Nice location!

All food access 😋. Everything was so nice and easy to get to.

The whole experience was beautiful.
