The Snug

More than met our expectations. Clean, comfortable and welcoming, with every need accomodated. Especially loved the coffee pods.

Location was perfect, central for the town and a short walk to the ferry terminal and bus stops. The flat was lovely , very clean and comfortable, perfect for a few nights. The host had provided tea,coffee milk and biscuits to start us off, a nice touch after a long journey.

The metal staircase to access the building was a bit of a climb and was a little corroded in places, however, this was fixed during our stay and the host did message us to let us know that the work was taking place. A sign at the foot of the staircase would have helped in finding the flat as "The Snug" sign was inside the building so we weren't sure we were in the right place to start with. Also, there wasn't any lighting on the outside staircase. There was a big chunky padlock on the broom cupboard and sink unit , this may be needed but there was no access to things such as cleaning products or dustpan and brush etc

Central location, inside the flat was lovely. Had everything you needed. If staying weekend.

The 35 steel steps outside to the flat. Some very rusty in places. The bed looked lovely. Both my partner and I had terrible sleep on soft lumpy mattress. 4 nights. No where to hang coats. The very loose clothes hanger 4 items most, was in corner beside the bed, kept walking into it when had to get up, foot get caught cotton rug. This type bed-frame is too big small bedroom. We on walking holiday, visiting my parents who live locally.

It was clean, central to most things, facilities were good, modern decor, quiet area

The advertisement of a sea view room is a far fetched description the view is between two properties in front of ‘the snug’ which was extremely disappointing, (see photo attached), the metal staircase to access the property has severe corrosion and is potentially unsafe especially in rainy conditions, the front door would not close unless locked, no tv in the bedroom was a downside and no central heating.

Very clean and nicely furnished. Very central location in town and handy for shops, pubs, and restaurants but quiet at night time which we liked. Flat faces the sea front rather than the town main street which was nice.Supermarket 5 minute walk away. Cal Mac ferry short walk away and Western Ferries a mile away.Perfect for a short break and well equipped. Bed was very comfortable and flat felt spacious for a couple staying. Would definitely recommend and will be back. Very comfortable. Thank you!

Fridge rather than fridge freezer - if we were staying for a week this would make a difference to us. Steep metal stairs to access the flat, which was fine for us but maybe not for others?
