Bali Firefly BnB

The best part of my stay at Bali Firefly BnB was the beautiful view, which made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The room was clean, and I appreciated that it was well-maintained in terms of hygiene. The staff were friendly and polite, creating a welcoming environment. The setting had the potential to be a great retreat, especially given Bali’s reputation for spirituality, and I was hoping for a more immersive and enriching experience.

Unfortunately, several issues impacted my experience. The shower had weak water pressure and didn’t really have hot water, which made it uncomfortable. The fan stopped working, which was a problem in the heat. While the staff were friendly, they didn’t offer much helpful advice beyond what I could easily find online. Since I was seeking a more spiritual retreat and have been meditating for over ten years, I was hoping for insightful temple recommendations, but instead, I was just given the most obvious tourist attraction. One of the biggest disappointments was the misleading information on Booking.com. The listing originally stated that there was a free airport shuttle service, but when I asked about it at the end of my stay, they denied the offer, removed it from their site, and tried to charge me more than double the going rate for a taxi. This pattern of overcharging extended to other services as well—for example, they wanted to charge me more than double the standard price for a ride to the temple. I expect guesthouses to provide a more personalized experience and not try to take advantage of guests, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. The breakfast is included, but wasn't exceptional in any way either. It was mostly generic aside from the day they had more guests and decided to make something more fancy for them.

The beautiful gardens, breakfast, the pool and the comfortable yet stylish rooms. We loved our outside shower and big windows. This place had everything we needed and the staff were super friendly. The mosquito net also works so well at night. It was a nice change of pace to sleep with the windows open and have the sounds of nature without an aircon running.

Absolute Paradise in the middle of the rice fields. Kadek and his wife Putuh and their 2 young sons made us feel like King and Queen with their genuine Balinese hospitality and kindness. We will definitively return one day.

Wonderful hospitality rom Kecak and his wife. Quaint place close to everything in Ubud, but without the hustle and bustle. No traffic sounds. Beautiful garden, you'll hear some nature sounds because of this. We loved it. Everyday there was a different breakfast option. Best we had in Bali.

Breakfast was different every day. Delicious vegan meals. Kadek (manager) was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Very pleased with him and feel that he is now a friend.

The beautiful rice field location was a plus but also a negative, if you are a poor sleeper. We are bird watches. I found the birds, ducks, chooks, gecko’s, water monitor lizard, frogs and quails delightful. However, after a heavy rain, the wildlife throw a “party” at night.

We loved every second. The whole family made us feel very welcome and breakfast was just incredible. Thank you for the attention and the care and we can't wait to be back!

Outdoor shower should be screened more from neighbouring property's pool

Kindness and friendliness of the host. Breakfast was different every day and home made from the hosts, fresh and tasty. Amazing location in the rice fields away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The cabin is cozy and it had a little kitchen downstairs with fridge and drinking water. Bathroom and shower are outside. The garden surrounding the cabin is amazing. The pool was clean and great.

It took us a little bit to get used to the lizard and gekos that were sleeping in the cabin during the day and walking on the roof by night. Nothing too extreme, the mosquito net around the bed works perfectly. Such a beautiful carved wood cabin that might require a little love as the termites are destroying it unfortunately.
