Chogogo Dive & Beach Resort Bonaire

Chogogo was a wonderful resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay, which was 8 days. The check-in was extremely efficient and pleasant. The location was great, right on the ocean with a very nice beach, even though it was a bit rocky. Bring beach shoes. You can dive right off the beach at the hotel. And it was less than 5 mins drive to town, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The vibe was relaxed and chill with a great beach bar/casual dining option (Bari). The staff there was fun and friendly, especially Carlington and the gentleman and young lady behind the bar. Bina is their more upscale restaurant and the staff there was amazing. They are very attentive and professional. Sunset is the 3rd restaurant which looks great but we actually didn't eat there. The rooms are large and clean, with cool, quirky touches like the red fridge. Loved it. We even did the lazy river which was fun. We rented a car and there was plenty of parking. It's super easy to get around the island also. Only minor issue was that we had to put a towel near the shower as water would spill out of the open space (one of those 1/2 door showers). But it wasn't a big deal.

This is the second time we have stayed at this resort this year. Both times were exceptional. The gals at the service desk were friendly and professional. We love staying on an upper floor until with rooms facing the ocean. The views are so worth it! The elevators are wonderful for carrying all of your luggage and groceries. Steps are nice as well if you’re not carrying anything heavy. We have not used the onsite dive shop because we prefer Dive Friends as we are able to get tanks north and south of town. But the dive shop does look nice. I think they should carry regular t-shirts and have a bigger selection of clothing for those who stay there to take home as souvenirs..I would have bought a few for sure. Parking is great but once in awhile you may have to park out front near the road but it’s not a big deal. Security is great. The lazy river and pool are a big reason we stay there as well. And I can’t forget to mention Bari Reef is just next door. One of the top dive sites on the island. We are seasoned travelers and have been coming to Bonaire for years so we know our way around the very well and have stayed at many places but Chogogo exceeds all of them. The value and location are so worth it!!!!

Perfect resort, supermooi, goede kamers, aardig personeel. Alles wat je zoekt voor een relaxte vakantie op Bonaire!

Het enige was dat de vogels je ontbijt kunnen afpakken, dus tip: neem vooral geen ham ;)

Netjes en heel mooi resort gelegen aan het strand. Het voelt niet als een groot resort aan! Kamers waren netjes en uitgerust met goed keuken apparatuur!

We had a tremendous stay at Chogogo Bonaire. We did the Dive, Drive, and Stay package. The three restaurants were all wonderful with fresh food and great cocktail selections. The beach is wonderful with white sand, umbrellas, cabanas, and lounge chairs. The dive shop, Scuba Do is located on site and the house reef is absolutely stunning. The water was clearer there than any of the other dive sites that we went to, and we did approximately 30 dives the week we were there. If you are visiting from the US, note that you will need plug adapters for the Netherlands, however there are some available to borrow from the front desk at no cost. The Dive shop operation is great, and while this was my first trip to Bonaire, my partner has been 4 times prior and stayed at Buddy Dive, and he said that Chogogo blew them out of the water. As for comparison, we arrived, did our checkout dive with a DM, and then were issued a locker next to the tank cage on the opposite side of the parking lot (not near the dive shop) which had a combination lock to which we were given the code. There we were able to store our dive gear with hangers and two portable bins provided to take in and out as we pleased to put gear in while traveling in the truck. Nitrox and Air were included at no additional cost with no limit on the number of tanks you were allowed to "check out". There was an o2 analyzer along with a pressure gauge inside the cage for you to verify your nitrox fill, and you were allowed to check out tanks at any time, day or night. Attached to the cage was a Ring camera doorbell that rang to the dive shop in case you had any questions, you didn't have to walk all the way across the resort to the shop. Since the resort is right next to the marina, if you choose to do a boat dive, you simply sign up, take your gear to the shop at the appointed time, load it into a bin and load the bin into a truck that transports it to the Marina. It is a short walk from the shop to the Marina where your gear is waiting for you to pick up and take to the boat. For non-divers, there is of course, the beautiful beach, as well as a lazy river with complimentary floats. Chef's Bonaire is near the resort and while not associated with it, I would highly recommend this experience as well.

Beach bar bari De meeste dagen goed gegeten, maar de keer dat we niet goed gegeten hebben en dit aangegeven hebben bij het personeel werd er totaal niet meegedacht en moesten we de volle rekening betalen. Het gaat niet om het geld maar de princiepen dat we voor een gerecht moeten betalen terwijl we aangegeven hebben dat het niet goed is (slof en koud). Ook had de bediening vaak geen zin om ons te bedienen. We moesten soms wel 5-10 minuten wachten tot we drinken konden bestellen en dan stonden er 4 man niks te doen erg jammer dat de beach bar bari niet goed beviel ondanks de fantastische accommodatie

They pay attention to details here, everything you could possibly need is in the room or easily asked for in the front desk. The plugs are European and they had the converters at the front desk. Every meal we ate the restaurants were amazing especially the ceviche. The dive shop was top notch, they had lockers and packages that fit every need. Had a great stay here and looking forward to our next visit.
