New Birchfield Hotel

Basic but clean hotel free breakfast and free parking witch is a bonus good value for money would stay again.

First impressions when arriving were the mold smell in the reception and throughout the hotel . Checking in we wasn't given the room we booked instead was given a family standard room with side sea view instead of the double sea view room we booked, which we were unhappy about . Beds had black hair on the sheets which was awful . The whole hotel needs a makeover it's so dated curtains falling off the windows cracks in the glass. The bathroom you could see where the painting had been touched up to cover the mold marks . Breakfast was cereal toast and fry up , overall I wouldn't be recommending this hotel sorry . It's run by 3 men one very friendly other two grumpy . Parking spaces at the front of the hotel we parked in a carpark the first night then moved when a space was vacant the next morning because there is only 8 spaces .

Positives: Great location in terms of Weston-Super-Mare itself, the town is nearly all in walking distance. Staff were friendly and quite accommodating since we arrived quite late on our night of arrival and it wasn’t a problem. Negatives: Hotel itself is a bit run down from the outside, but as are many of the hotels in this town, so we stayed hopeful as we arrived. The room had been tidied before our arrival obviously, but there was mould on the ceiling of the bathroom, in some corners of the room, and the entire inside of the wardrobe was coated in it. We stayed for two nights and the entire time there was a beeping coming from the hallway outside of our room (smoke alarm we assumed). The 28 inch TV screen advertised for every room happened to be a 16 inch TV, which was actually on the other side of the room making it hard to even see.

Clean and tidy, bed wasn’t that comfy though. A new mattress would be an idea. Breakfast was good quality. Would stay again.

When we arrived they told us the hotel was closed and under renovation, however we had told them that we only booked one night. We were shown to a room, there was no heating on in the room, only a electric heater. The breakfast was appalling with workmen carry out work whilst we were having breakfast. Never again. Although the man serving was was trying to be very obliging.

Excellent situation lovely and friendly staff lovely breakfast and lovely vlean room but disapointed there was no parking spaces left why i areivwd so had to oark on the main road and pay additional parking

My first stay was without complaint and reasonably good 👍 My secons visit, on this occasion unforunately was not such a positive experience. Firstly the television looked dangerously close to falling off of the wall fitting and was therefore tilted on a forward down angle and hard to watch. Secondly upon entering the toilet i was disgusted to find faeces from another guest lingering at the bottom of the toilet! The bed itself was quite springy and could feel the springs in my back. Their were other quite noisy guests. Quite the opposite experience of my first visit.

Bed & towels were clean but the bathroom wasn't. Toilet was dirty, not cleaned properly from the previous guests use, sink leaked from the pipes all over the floor, hair & dust in corners of the floor & the shower was very dirty around the shower tray & doors, shower head full of brown limescale so didn't use it. Guests details were visible on a sign in sheet on reception. Definitely wouldn't stay again.
