White House at Grand Central & Washington Blvd

Did not like the smell of pot with in the building. Location was great to have easy access to many area activities.

Very enjoyable old building, nice location by campus and walk to theaters, m short drive to forrest park, museums. Hot water was limited and free parking 10 minute walk away, otherwise nice place.

Our stay was very home-like, safe, and comfortable.

The door had been ripped off the hinges prior and had a very poor repair. The fuse for the heater was wore out in fitting so the had to put a paper towel in to hold the fuse in to make it work. Also the parking was very bad

I was quite disappointed with our stay. The listing implied a cozy room, but we ended up in an attic space that felt cramped and poorly ventilated. The room’s layout and low ceilings made it difficult to relax, and the overall condition did not meet our expectations based on the description. I hope future guests receive clearer information about the actual accommodations.

Did not have location cleaned after last person who stayed in the room before me. Was unable to get in touch with anyone about it. No clean towels, bed linens, trash/dishes.

The decorations were cute. There were a few snacks provided and it was nice having a kitchen and lots of utensils. Location was good.

I am usually not someone to leave a negative review. I usually easily pleased, but do want others booking to be aware. The building itself needs a bit of TLC. Cracks in the bathroom sink, oven overhead light and fan did not work, the dishwasher was not set in the cabinet space so it almost pulled out when opening the door. The comforter had “bodily fluid” looking stains. It was cold and snowy when we stayed and the thermostat was set on A/C at 54 degrees F when we arrived, and the kitchen window was open and damaged. It took a long time to warm it back up. A $99 security deposit is charged for a room that really needs work. We paid the more expensive option for a 1 bedroom apartment with more space. We were instead placed in the studio apartment. I would have not cared, expect there is a big price difference in the two. I brought this to the host’s attention and was blatantly ignored (two other messages of mine were answered, but not that one.)
