Refugio Lodge

Located in a prime spot, this place was clean, convenient with amazing staff. Augustin was very prompt with his communication and took great care of all o our needs! His staff is very helpful and the nearby bar is excellent for a night cap. Breakfast and on site cafe is excellent!

I would Refugio Lodge to anyone and everyone traveling to Tamarindo. ALL of the staff were so amazing and beyond accommodating. A special shout out to the youngest staff member, Pablo! He, along with everyone else there made us really feel like family throughout our stay!! The breakfast from the cafe (which was included with our stay) was delicious and I don’t drink coffee but my mom and sister couldn’t stop raving about their coffee (the roast is directly in house). The food from the restaurant was also soooo delicious. The location of the lodge is perfect, walking distance to the beach and all the shops, restaurants and bars that tamarindo has to offer. Before checking in they had provided us with information on popular tours, a map of recommended spots in tamarindo and tips to save $$ while in the area. We will definitely be back and thank you so much for making our stay absolutely wonderful! They truly go above and beyond for their guests <3

Refugio Lodge was perfect! It’s within walking distance to the beach, offers delicious food (the breakfast options are amazing), and has a great swimming pool. For anyone visiting Tamarindo, I highly recommend it. Agustin is extremely thorough with communication. The staff working are also very helpful and friendly.

Had a lovely staff at Refugio Lodge, all the staff I met was friendly and welcoming. Pool was nice and refreshing after a day of being out. Refugio is ideally located in the heart of Tama so location was perfect for both beach and nightlife. Breakfast being included was great as this town could be as expensive as NY price-wise, yes New York. Agustin was helpful and always easy to reach via WhatsApp. Thank you to everyone at Refugio for making my stay great.

Refugio Lodge is an absolute gem in the heart of Tamarindo! Even before we arrived, Agustin went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of exceptional. He was incredibly helpful, providing us with a detailed map of the best spots in Tamarindo- surfing locations, coffee and ice cream shops, restaurants, bars-you name it. As he got to know more about our trip, he offered additional personalized tips and advice that made our experience even better. The entire team at Refugio Lodge is genuinely dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. The lodge’s central location puts you right in the middle of all the action. While the vibrant nightlife adds some noise, it’s all part of the authentic Tamarindo vibe. And let’s talk about the food- WOW. We tried everything on the menu, and every bite was phenomenal! The Avocado Toast is a must-have. If you're looking for a place that perfectly blends comfort, outstanding service, and unbeatable proximity to everything Tamarindo has to offer, Refugio Lodge is the one.

The staff were excellent. The room was a great size and clean! The breakfast were many choices and excellent coffee. Good nightly entertainment! Pleasant stay I would definitely go back!

Wonderful stay at Refugio Lodge. Beds were comfy, rooms clean. Lodge is beautifully decorated. All of the staff I met were so gracious, kind and helpful. Augustin communicated with me via WhatsApp starting the day before my arrival to make sure everything went smoothly. He also provided detailed information on local restaurants and things to do and even arranged a driver for me to get to my next destination. I accidentally overslept and missed both checkout and breakfast. Everyone was so kind about it and made sure I had a delicious avocado toast and eggs for breakfast with some of their delicious coffee that they make in house. Perfect location. Just a short walk to the beach. Shops all around. I could t have been more impressed with everything. There was a lot of music I could hear but made for a very festive time in the heart of Tamarindo.

The staff was fantastic. Very helpful, kind and a lot if fun to be with. The only bad thing was the blaring music in and around the area which made it difficult to sleep.

We stayed for 9 days, good breakfast/ coffee/juice included with the room 👍 Agustin and staff we're all super nice and helpful with sharing good places to see, good restaurants. The hotel hosts an array of fun entertainment in the evenings 💥 💥 💥 Good times 👌 Looking forward to our next stay here.

10/10 an amazing experience. Best lodging experience I’ve had, not even just for Costa Rica but anywhere I have traveled. I enjoyed the recommendations and helpful staff, the free breakfast & coffee, and the atmosphere around the property. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
