Super cute small hotel. Staff were amazing, breakfast was delicious!

Great staff, beautiful property. Con: every night is crazy loud music until 2 am... It is quiet all-day until it is night, great for a party person not Good for families or early birds like me.

Huge, clean room with AC! Great healthy food. Only negative was that you can’t have guests in your room at all and I wasn’t super clear on what was and wasn’t included in the breakfast. Amazingly kind staff and cool spot in the heart of Tamarindo. Definitely recommend :)

We enjoyed our stay at the Surf House, but the accommodations were not very good. The room was run down and the shower came out in a trickle. We heard the property used to be a hostel and was bought a year ago. The owners remodeled the restaurant which was absolutely lovely, and the front office. They had not started on the hotel rooms yet. The pool was not kept up- there was debris in it most of the time, which is understandable considering it was surrounded by trees. What made this place comfortable was the staff. They were exceptional! Breakfast came with our stay and it was very, very good. I would not stay there again until the remodeling is complete. Also, the noise from the music next door was extremely loud. I wore earplugs but I could still hear the band. We were warned ahead of time, so it didn't really bother us but please keep this in mind when booking this property. But we will consider staying there again in the future- they are on the right track with the remodel!

The staff, location, included breakfast, and amenities were awesome! The noise at night was VERY loud. There is a club very close by playing thumping music on the weekends. It was quieter during the week but earplugs were a necessity on the weekend. That being said, there were so many positives that I would definitely consider staying there again!
