AC Hotel by Marriott Inverness

This hotel is great. It's in a perfect location in Inverness. Our room overlooked the river, so we had a great view. The breakfast was very good. It offered a lot of choices. We had dinner there one night, which was also good. The staff was excellent - Ross and Rinna took great care of us.

Size of room, location, and breakfast buffet. Those people were on it.

The white chairs are not a good idea. So many of them were stained and looked really sad.

Stunning hotel and rooms. Great location and cocktails.

Exceptionally hard mattress made for a difficult sleep.

We have been marriott members for 20+ years. Upon check-in, I reminded the receptionist of my requests posted on my marriott profile (high floor, away from elevator, quiet room). So we go up to the top floor and our room is right across from the elevator. Went back down to reception and they said that's all they had and the noise shouldn't be that bad. They also said my requests only go to the corporate marriott site and not individual hotels. We had just traveled from the W Marriott in Edinburgh where we were treated like royalty. Woke up the next morning to construction hammering right next door. It was Sunday so the construction noise would stop at noon. They offered to move us to a lower floor but we were Leaving the next day and didn't want to go through the hassle of packing and unpacking again. At this point, I was so frustrated I told them that it was my 70th birthday that day and we paid $500 US dollars a night. We paid the same at the W and there was no comparison to the service and breakfast! To soften the blow they sent up bday cake and a stuffed animal. We paid extra for breakfast which was mediocre at best. After we left I realized that I might have left my kindle in the AC hotel's fitness. I called them and they said they would check lost and found and get back to me. They never did. So, the staff needs to polish their customer service skills and give better attention especially to their marriott customers. We saved for two years for this trip so for the $1000.00 we spent, we were highly disappointed
