Bird Island Bungalows

- great location if you look for a standalone accommodation surrounding by tropical forests and having spectacular Caribbean beaches within walking distance - you can borrow a guitar/ukulele, board games or kayak for additional leisure options - the breakfast is nice and the bar/restaurant menu has great quality and reasonable prices for a place located in the jungle - quite a nice snorkeling / animal watching experience nearby: you can see various birds including a hummingbird right on the territory, some animals like sloths or monkeys beside the main road, tens of fish species and sometimes even sea turtles - absolutely amazing staff, truly welcoming and helping out with transfers / excursions

Damp can be a nasty problem if you stay for more than a couple of days. I realized too late that you need to open the door and windows more often for better air circulation, so my pillows and clothes got an unpleasant smell. Be mindful of that and drying your stuff. The internet connection can be unstable based on weather conditions as the property uses satellite internet access.

La ubicación del hotel es simplemente un sueño. Ideal para desconectar y pasar unos días de relax. Si que es verdad que tiene un poco de difícil acceso, pero el personal del hotel te ayuda en todo momento para ofrecerte opciones de movilidad. Aún así el hotel tiene 2 playas accesibles a pie que son una maravilla. Las instalaciones del hotel están genial también, una piscina estupenda, comer todos los días frente al mar con unas vistas inigualables. Las habitaciones comodísimas. La comida del hotel está deliciosa, y los precios son bastante aceptables. Por último, el personal, que maravilla! Después de estar 2 semanas en distintos hoteles de Panamá, podemos decir que es la mejor gente con la que hemos coincidido: atentos, dispuestos a ayudar, amigables y buena onda.

No limpian las habitaciones durante la estancia.

I had booked a drive from the hotel to the water taxi to navigate crossing the border to Costa Rica amidst protests and road blocks. The driver never showed up!!!!! I was furious. The shuttle service had been very clear 8:05 or they leave without you. Staff on site in the morning took exception to my anger which made me more angry. $90 a night for hotel for me is expensive! I expect quality service. It is completely unacceptable what happened. The onsite staff had also promised to put together some food for my trip. She had not even got out of bed let alone made any snacks as promised. A phone call the night before to the driver, to confirm probably would have helped!!! There were only four of us guests. The staff had plenty of time on their hands to accomplish that. It was just outrageous!!! No extra care taken. And the attitude was terrible. I was paying a lot for a hotel room and I would expect the ride to be waiting for me at designated time and breakfast packed as promised (breakfast was included in the price).Neither occurred. I was rushed by another driver to get there....extremely stressful. The attitude really sucked!!!!! I've never been that angry before in all my life. Any relaxation I had while staying completely tightened up with this lousy ending

Perfect location to spend time in nature. It was truly a unique experience and we would have loved to stay longer!
