Thatford Hotel

Hotel was clean, staff were great. However, the space is small, neighborhood not so great.

Abby and Mary were so extremally nice and helpful. They made us feel very welcome from the minute we stepped in the door. The room was typical NY tiny. We got the economy room, smallest and least expensive. The room was newly remodeled so very nice and cleaning feeling. Luxury vinyl on the floor so no icky carpet. There were only two kind of thin pillows & no night table lamps. No closet, towel bars or hooks. But the towels were very nice. Room was super clean. Bed VERY comfortable. VERY quiet on a Monday night. Mini fridge had a little freezer compartment. It was perfectly comfortable for the one night we were there. GREAT value. 24 hr. desk clerk for security. There is no furniture in what looks to be a common area on the first floor. Parking was a bit difficult There is parking on Thatford St., but be careful where you park. During the week you will have to move your car by 7am or 8am. The Asian restaurant on the corner is fabulous!.

Neighborhood is iffy. Entrance and hallways smell of weed. But rooms are new and decent. Our room had no mirror in the bathroom and no toilet tissue holder but the beds were fine and the AC worked well. Front desk girl was very reluctant to even speak.

Sketchy neighborhood, nice hotel. Room was small, bed was really nice, shower was nice. I just think that for as no-frills as it is the rates should be lower.

the floor of the room was dirty, bed was uncomfortable and pillows were so full of air that when you put your head down, the rest of the pillow puffs up and surrounds your head. the shower rod came off while i was showering.

Room wasn’t cleaned. Still had food and items left from previous customer. Dirty towels, bugs, no cups. Only one person working. I asked for remote to TV he said I had to wait two hours for it. Asked for cups he had none I had to walk to the store in a dangerous neighborhood just for cups. They have a parking sign but absolutely nowhere to park. Worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel.

The property itself was very nice, clean on the inside, but it qas surrounded byan area that had a bunch of trash and just smelt bad. The walks are pretty thin as well.

People so good, place so good. Only suggestion, go in car until there.

Looks nice and clean on the surface but there are no lamps so the rooms are dim (1 ceiling light above the door and bathroom lights). My room also had no wastebasket or phone. The ac control panel did not work, and neither did the toilet. The toilet had what appeared to be oil in the water, even after attempting to flush. I walked to the front desk (remember there was no phone) and told the receptionist. She called someone who eventually came downstairs (talking on his cellphone), acknowledged her and walked out the door. At this point I’d been standing there for 10 minutes. I asked her if I should go back to my room and she said yes. I asked if anyone was coming by and she pointed to the man outside on his cell and said that he’s be there shortly. I waited another 20 minutes and heard a knock. It was a housekeeper, who HANDED ME A PLUNGER AND WALKED AWAY?! I was shocked, but I tried to plunge it with no luck. At least the receptionist apologized when I told her that no one came to “fix” the toilet, just a housekeeper expecting me to do her job. I’ve stayed at cheap motels with less of a hassle. Don’t bother staying here!
