Absolutamente nada pésimo lugar!! the worst place in the world!

Complaint to booking The hostel forced me to pay a 19% VAT on the value of the accommodation, violating my rights as a Colombian resident abroad for which I am exempt to such payment, as the law says. I accredited all the documents required to prove my status as a tourist resident, such as passport and check-mig, plus my belgian residence card, which was rejected by the receptionist and the assistant just because for them it did not have a stamp from a colombian migration official. Since I had done the migration through the electronic gate, with the previous registration in the check mig platform, and I had the registration in a digital way. But apparently these two hostel workers were unaware of the existence of such registration which was very frustrating. However, when I tried to assert my rights and show them their mistake these two characters and especially the receptionist became very rude and started yelling at me when I tried to explain that they were wrong and that they did not know the tax law which was quite clear. Their way of raising their voices and speaking in a disrespectful manner is unacceptable to me no matter the circumstance and more in establishments that provide customer service. Equally and even more serious is the violation of my civil rights of which I was a victim. Faced with this uncomfortable and unpleasant quote for me, I tried to ask for a refund because I did not want to stay in a place where I had been treated so badly, but they still refused alleging that it was an economic room and that I was not entitled to a refund which was very false because it was a very expensive room for what it offered. Without a doubt it is the worst experience I have had in terms of hostels, the place was in bad condition and the location was quite dangerous at night, in addition to that, the noise and music all day in the area did not allow to rest at any time.

Great place to stay. Friendly staff, esp the lady receptionists who spoke English. Loved the AC in the dorm. There were toilets and showers down the hall, so if the bathroom in the dorm was busy, there was always one available. Great location near 2 good supermarkets and all the downtown stuff. Short walk to the beach.

The toilets down the hall could use more cleaning (e.g. trash cans emptied) regularly.

The room & bathroom were very spacious. The staff was very friendly & helpful with tips for the area and helped with booking taxis We could store our luggage over serval days for free (did ciudad perdida) and we could also use the shower when we came back. If you plan to do ciudad perdida check with them as they have an offer in collaboration with WIWA tour.

Breakfast was not as complete as in other places but the food we got was good. The wifi did not reach the upper floor (room 11)

The staff was really nice and the place was totally clean

great location, good breakfast (fruit, eggs, bread with jam and butter, pancakes, coffee - like almost everywhere else), clean and comfortable bed. the staff is very very nice. has a rooftop bar which i think doesn’t even work but you can hang out there.

there was noise early im the morning and in the evening but that is because our room (deluxe double with balcony) was facing the street and in santa marta everyone honks all the time. so i think this is something out of control for any hostel/hotel. room is basic, not a lot hangers, but this is a minor thing.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location.

Room was very basic with no space to hang or store clothes... (ironically there is art with hangers on it in a place you would actually like to have some real hooks/storage)
