The road to the location

Es forzoso llegar en auto, todo es terracería, pero vale la pena ver toda la naturaleza, una vez en el lugar todo es muy tranquilo y si buscas unas cabañas estás son realmente acogedoras y muy coquetas, los anfitriones son súper cordiales, los alimentos muy ricos. Cuentan con un kayak el cuál lo ocupamos sin ningún costo para ir a dar una vuelta a la laguna la cual es super tranquila y linda, si buscas pasar tu día para desconectarte y conectar con la naturaleza éste es el lugar ideal, nos encantó a mi esposo a mi hijo de 4 años y a mi, muchísimas gracias por su hospitalidad.

Except the property is lake front, nothing is as per description of justify the photos. Do not trust the photos.

Very unhygienic property. Not maintained at all. Dark and damp rooms with constant smell of old wood. Bathrooms are unusable. No hot water. The amount they charge for this property is actually a scam! We saw a snake in the garden so not recommend if you are with kids. Only 1or 2 staff who cook in the restaurant and were doing other work as well. We couldn't stay after suffering the night, we had to book another hotel for our stay.

Serene location right by the lakefront with a boardwalk inviting for both swimming and kayaking by day and stargazing at night. Beautiful flora in the carefully tended park area. Cozy wooden cabins, albeit somewhat moist like all Bacalar locations due to the lagoon. Small restaurant with excellent food (try the fish!). Highly recommendable.

Really not much to like. I don't usually rate accommodation this harshly but for the price point and the poor experience we had, this reflects it. Only consolation was the on lagoon location but the rest of the property was underwhelming and misrepresented on Booking.com

Difficult drive into the property, with rural unpathed roads which is risky with a hire car - no warning of this prior. The first room we were offered had large holes between the roof and walls, with ample opportunity for insects etc as it's in the jungle and by a lagoon with mosquitoes that can easily enter the room! We wanted to leave and forego the cost of our accommodation completely. However they offered a different room which was sealed without holes so this was an improvement from bare minimum expectations...now to review the new room. It was mouldy and damp with a strong musty mildew smell (see mouldy ceiling fan picture for example!). Being sensitive to mould I was very uncomfortable with the situation but thought to give it a chance with the room change provided. However, after 1 night we had enough and left - foregoing our 2nd night's cost because it was not refundable and they were not willing to provide it even with the poor experience. I still have the smell of mould/mildew in some of my suitcase too, what an awful momento to take away from this disappointing stay. Overall, extremely frustrating and disappointing. We do not recommend anyone to stay here and please hear our warning!

The bed looked comfortable and the garden is nice, with lush of green

The room was dirty, the wc brush was nasty, there was a "used" unfolded towel in the corner of the room and I won't dare to step on the bath mat with my bare feet. In the end we didn't sleep here, it was far away from the city center with a bumpy road and with a semi dirty room

This is a lovely place! The lagoon out front is awesome and perfect for a swim. The cabin we had was great. One thing I didn’t like is that you can’t close the bathroom door from inside the bathroom. I was with my husband so no big deal but for others it may be a bit uncomfortable. The location is beautiful, however, you need to travel about 15 minutes off-road to get there. It’s not near Bacalar’s town at all— after the dirt road (which really requires all-wheel drive) you must travel on the highway to get to town. We had my husbands truck so it was fine for us but did make the trip a bit different than we thought because we had to plan for being in town all day as the trip back and forth throughout the day would be too much. If you want to chill at the facility the duration of the trip it would be perfect and relaxing, however there were not exactly suitable paddle boards or kayaks to use. I think if we had that, we could have stayed at the property a whole day without needing to travel to other parts of the lagoon for activities.

Bathroom door didn’t close from the inside, toilet clogged easily, a bit of sewage smell, and no paddle boards or usable kayaks with paddles.

Staff was friendly. Nice view at the lagoon.

Pictures of that place are misleading, it seems they were taken when it was brand new and now it is worn out. It is very overpriced. Included breakfast was quite poor, just fruits, one toast with butter and coffee. Wifi is not working in the bungalows. And the worse thing is the road that leads there, it is terrible, not sure how you drive it after rain. We were happy that we stayed there knly one day, for that price you can find much better accommodation.

Lakeside location was fine.

1.5 km off-road drive not suitable for 2WDvehicle. No hot water. Steep narrow spiral staircase to room made carrying luggage very difficult. More than one hour wait for dinner. The whole place was in a state of disrepair.
