"Run,don’t walk!"

10.0

Sakura Ridge is one of the most beautiful properties we have ever visited. Located in Hood River, the landscape is superb. Waking up to views of Mt.Hood is so serene. The lodge is stunningly beautiful and well appointed with the simplicity of Japanese elegance. Julian, the chef puts out breakfasts that are worthy of five stars. Ben, the caretaker, goes out of his way to help. We loved our stay, thanks.

"AMAZING place to stay"

10.0

Where do I start, this place is AMAZING! From the moment we entered the gate to the property to when we left, I can't say enough about Sakura Ridge. Due to COVID, there was self check-in, instructions were precise and detailed. We had the River Room, which I thought was the best room ever. It had a PERFECT view of Mt. Hood, but the bed and the bathroom. Both rooms had huge picture windows, which we left open the entire time we were there. We had to enjoy the view with every second we were there. The bed was so comfortable and attention to detail throughout the room made it a place we could have stayed forever. Taking a bath in the ball & clawfoot tub with a view of Mt. Hood was the best way to start your day! Now to breakfast, due to COVID our hosts left a picnic basket with the most delicious breakfast, which included on day one, breakfast taco, fresh fruit from their gardens and red cabbage salad. Second day Julia Childs Quiche Lorraine, fresh blueberry (from their garden) coffee cake and green salad. So YUMMY both days! Now on to their farm...I can't say enough, what an AWESOME place! They have so much fresh fruit from their varieties of pears, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, all the vegetables, they grown so many, I am sure I am leaving so much out. The sheep on their farm were adorable, although they are there for a reason, but it was so cool to see all that their farm had. My husband and I are so envious. It is peaceful here and you can get lost in the atmosphere, which is exactly what we needed and would recommend it for anyone that wants to stay here, just take in everything! The Lodge is a great location, 5 minutes to town and then within an hour to any place else you would want to go. Everywhere you drive is so beautiful! We say, STAY HERE, it will be truly amazing! John and Deanna, Deidra, we will definitely be back someday! You all are AMAZING host, we thank you for making our stay very memorable that will last a lifetime.

"Stunning views and great breakfast"

10.0

Sakura Ridge is absolutely perfect. The stunning views and great breakfast prepared fresh every morning sets the stage for a great, relaxing vacation experience. Even the coffee is brewed to perfection. Grab a cozy Pendleton blanket and sit on the porch to take it all in. You won’t regret staying here.

"Beautiful Views From Sakura Lodge"

8.0

My cousin, daughter and I stayed at Sakura Lodge for two nights in August. The views of Mt. Hood were outstanding from the cozy outdoor deck. The rustic lodge was beautiful inside and absolutely clean. The well cared for grounds had lush fruit trees and lovely plantings and the food was delicious. Our room was nice but very small for three people though the reason I did not rate the property as a 5 had more to do with the sense of extreme quiet that appears to be needed at the lodge in the evening. When we arrived, we were told by one of the owners that guests below our room were getting up very early to go fishing and because of this, he said that quiet in the evening would be appreciated. On the second night there, we were talking in the living room to some guests that we had just met and as soon as the clock struck nine, the other owner came down to let us know that some guests in a room above the living room said that we were too loud. While my family of three was certainly not whispering, we were all a bit surprised that we were reprimanded for talking and laughing congenially in what appeared to be a gathering space. With that, we went to bed early and ate a bit of an awkward breakfast the next morning while wondering who the people were that our conversational level voices had troubled so much the night before.

"Relaxing and fulfilling "

10.0

The experience felt like we we going back in time with the Mountain View and the sheep. I told my husband that I thought of Shirley Temple in the movie Heide in the alps. Our experience was more than I expected...the farm is spectacular, views unbelievable, room was amazing and the breakfast was the best we had on our trip. Highly recommend and we will be back.

"A lovely escape with a view (and sheep)"

8.0

What a terrific place to unwind. Each room is unique, we stayed in the Orchid room. Balcony looking over the valley, fireplace, soaking tub and gardens on all sides. We woke to greet the sheep grazing near by. Be warned, the breakfast is available for 30 minutes, any time between 8:30 and 9 😁This is a working farm and folks are busy but easy to reach via text and very helpful. A quick 15 minute drive to the river and old town. A perfect weekend retreat.

"Stunning views & super breakfast"

10.0

If you like to get away from it all this is the place for you. The drive out from Hood River takes about 10 - 15 minutes first through a quiet neighbourhood and then through a wooded area until you reach the Sakura Ridge farm gates. A quick hop out of the car to open the gates then a drive through the farm and orchards to reach the lodge. Deanna was there to meet us and show us around the property. It has well kept gardens a wonderful wrap around deck with great views across the valley and to Mount Hood (weather permitting) with lots of comfortable seating to relax on or indulge in a bit of alfresco dining. The shared living area is warm and cosy and the kitchen area well equipped. Our bedroom was spacious and the king bed comfortable. The icing on the cake though was Deanna’s wonderful breakfast, quality ingredients and an accomplished chef. Thanks Deanna!

"Peaceful retreat with breathtaking view of Mt. Hood"

10.0

We spent two nights at Sakura Ridge Farm as part of a three-day trip to the Columbia Gorge to hike and drive the “fruit loop.” We were fortunate to hit the peak of “blossom season.” The bucolic drive from Hood River was wonderful and Mt. Hood grows larger and larger on the horizon. The lodge is beautiful, sort of chic American West with occasional Japanese touches. It’s a working farm with 7,000 pear trees, lambs and gardens. The views of Mt. Hood can’t be described. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, listening to birds, lambs and the quiet of the countryside, all the while watching Mt. Hood in the changing light, be it with coffee in the morning or wine and books in the evening. We also enjoyed Oscar the cat, who greeted us and kept us company on occasion. The breakfasts were fresh, utilizing many products from the farm. The lamb sausage and rhubarb sauce were especially noteworthy. Deeana was a delight to talk with at breakfast and gave us advice that helped us better experience the area. We’re looking forward to a return visit, perhaps in the fall.

"A Must at Hood River"

10.0

Deanna and Farmer John were great hosts. They have worked on making this an experience vs a place to spend the night. From the view of Mount hood to the farm atmosphere, to the clean rooms, incredibly manicured property, and the great meals this place has it all. The porch is so peaceful you won't want to leave it. Great place to see the milky way at night, the twinkling of the city lights, and enjoy the silence, or the noise of the lambs. Yes you do have to get out of your car and unhook the farm gate move your car and then close it behind you... I think that's just for the customer experience and it's cool :-).

"An idyllic B&B!!"

10.0

My wife and I love this place. This was our third visit and the first place we booked for a recent trip to the northwest. It is so peaceful and relaxing with a great view of Mt. Hood and beautiful sunrises. Deanna and John are wonderful hosts and Deanna serves a fabulous breakfast you would be hard pressed to find anywhere.
