"Extremely disappointing customer service"

We had reservations for a 3-night stay (November 7-10) to celebrate our wedding anniversary and attend a music festival. The day before our arrival, we were notified via text that they were having HVAC issues and gave us the opportunity to cancel without penalty. Obviously, securing lodging at another site with 1 day's notice when a music festival in town really put us in a difficult situation. After calling the Inn directly, I was told that they would not be assisting their guests secure alternate lodging (outside of a generic list of lodges, most of which were already fully booked). I was also told they would not be offering any discounts, should we decide to stay there without heat. I asked to speak with a manager, as I was absolutely dismayed that this was how the Inn was handling the situation. I was transferred to a voicemail that was full. After I rebooked at another location, having to pay double the nightly fee at the only place in the area with availability, they then offered a $50 discount. I understand that they could not have predicted the HVAC issue, but they certainly made no effort to accommodate their displaced guests. There is no excuse for this poor customer service.

The main bed in room #309 was sloped from the foot to the head and way to high above the floor. Sleeping was very uncomfortable.

"I predicted a better evening than the one we experienced!"

went for a special event... Craig Mcmanus... last year, the good was great and it was a very enjoyable evening... THIS year... awful! It looked like a harried bunch of inexperienced workers tried to handle the event... drink orders taken, but no drinks efficiently delivered... cold food... I mean, for $110,could you have at least doctored up the rice?? Dessert was Sara Lee pound cake with barely a drizzle of some kind of sauce... a berry... and a tiny plop of Cool Whip... really??!! For $110 a person? The drinks were awful... and my God... who could hear the speaker we pd money to hear... the bat and music were SO LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS What happened??!! This used to be such a nice event... and... now, you have ruined it Get your act together... or don't hold an event like this again if you cannot handle it properly

The hotel was clean and the location was perfect. Everyone who worked there was extra friendly and very helpful. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are great....the pillows not so much. We were disappointed as the bar, restaurant, lawn and porch were off limits the last night of our stay. There was a private event and that made us feel like we were second class guests. Wish they would have informed us when we booked. It's a beautiful old Victorian hotel so it lacks much of the comforts that may be expected. The common area could really needs a makeover. Furniture is really uncomfortable. Price is also higher than many of the newer hotels.

I was promised the refund because we had a problem with our room worked with Julee the manager she promised to issue a $300 credit. I am still waiting for it and thereโ€™s no way to reach bookings.com when I asked the manager of the Inn for a tracking number she told me not to worry itโ€™s being processed. Itโ€™s been over a month. I have seen no refund on my American Express bill and I donโ€™t know how to get it throughbookings.com. I need a credit applied to $300 immediately this is unfair and predatory practice and your website booking.com leaves a lot to be desired I will call you as well unfortunately, I have been trapped in your system and not able to processed appropriately. 914-837-7870 Jim.

Manager of the property promised a refund and would process it through bookings.com on our behalf because we had a problem with our room unfortunately nothing is getting accomplished no refund and I paid bookings.com full expect a $300 refund as soon as possible

"Great location but not a good value for standard room comforts for the expense"

Location was fantastic. Porch bar is welcoming with good live music. Staff very friendly.

Rooms are not well thought out for traveler comfort. Beds are extremely high. No vanity area for getting ready and bathroom was incredibly small and not well lit. Halls were cluttered with baby playpen and room refrigerators.
