Location, room and bathroom with amazingly soft towels and good wash products

the location was good. bed was comfortable. towels were lovely. on arrival we had a nice welcome and the lady helped us with our bags.

we knew there was no breakfast on a weekday but feel the cost of room was expensive. I know the building is very old but that's no excuse for cobwebs, and dust, and surfaces seemed sticky. noise from room above until late and in morning - we understand it was a dog padding around ...was very annoying. shower poor No signal on TV

Very convenient location in the village of Battle. Within walking distance of everything. Not far (~5 minute walk) from municipal paid parking lot. Parking costs ~£1.50/hour. There is a free overrflow grass parking area adjacent to the paid lot, but the locals fill that lot by 7:00 a.m. according to the bar tender. Room was comfortable, very well decorated, and clean. Having a bar and restaurant downstairs was very convenient too. I thought the food was very good and the portion sizes were good. I felt the prices for food, beer and wine were reasonable. I would stay here again and would reccomend it to friends.

The rooms are above the bar and, even though they have installed a sound-islolating glass partition at the top of the stairs, one can still hear the dull noise of the bar downstairs. I slept with earplugs and couldn't hear any noise. The bar closes at 11:15 and quiets down by 11:30. Overall, it was not an issue.

The location was great- especially if you are visiting the battlefield! Building is old, which really adds to the experience. Everyone working there was very friendly. Room was very nice, and the bed was comfortable

The restaurant: We waited 45 minutes for our starters and another 45 for the main course. A salad was added to our bill that no one ordered, but it wasn't worth complaining about, as it was pretty late by the time we got our bill. If you are a light sleeper, ask NOT to be put in the room over the bar. We were there on "80's night" and it was very loud.

Perfect location smack in the centre of Battle. Staff excellent, a great friendly pub. Room was spotless and good size. Lots of hangers in the wardrobe ( which is rare) and extra tea, coffee, water and toiletries available outside the room. Don't listen about comments relating to noise in the pub below...it's a pub !!! and once closed we got a perfect night's sleep. Pillows were the best !! This establishment reminded us of just how great pub's used to be. Highly recommended and we will be back 100%.

Bedroom right above a noisy pub. Music until 1am, couldn't sleep.

Arrived late for work. Told not serving breakfast the next day. Loud music until late.
