Host & Stay - Knight Retreat

Location was fantastic, close to transport links, and on a level with the harbour. Walking distance to most things and not too far but uphill to some things ( Whitby is a hilly place!). The apartment was very clean and modern with all the facilities you would expect. Teabags provided but no milk but Coop shop is close by.

Windows could be cleaner on the outside but the ones at the rear (bedroom) are at sub ground level so would be a challenge. There is no real outlook but then the town has plenty to look at.

Everything was excellent. The position to town and public transport was exceptional.

Mandatory contents insurance (for £25) a week before arriving was an unpleasant surprise.

Lovely modern apartment, with good facilities, very clean. Great central location but still nice and quiet. Loved Whitby, loved the apartment. Hope to be back

Not enough coat hangers

Excellent location near CBD, train and bus stations. Modernised apartment.

Several smaller issues, which totalled a significant problem eg 1. No milk supplied for initial cuppa on arrival, after a long day's travel. 2. Insufficient toilet paper supplied for 3 day stay 3. Dangerous trip hazard at front door ie the large sunken rectangle 4. Steep and narrow stairs to access the apartment. We were not informed about these and being an elderly couple, we could not lift our suitcases ourselves. Had to find help.Very modern 5. Having to pay £25 extra for damage waiver insurance. My tablet was incompatible with this program and it caused much angst until a previous host completed it for us on his computer. No one likes being hit with additional costs and this fee should have been included in the initial price paid. 6. Rather tricky shower configuration. Also, hot water very slow in coming. Not water wise.

Location, cleanliness!

Overhead shower was useless, didn’t warm up and was a drip, noticed on other reviews people saying the same, still not fixed a month or so later!!

The property was fantastic; clean, sleek, comfortable and with all the facilities that we could’ve asked for (the fireplace display was a much-loved bonus). The location was perfect and made it simple for us to leave 10 minutes prior to reservations or bookings along the pier, and we could still make them in time.

There was quite a lot of random rubbish and debris in the spaces between the apartment building and the building adjacent, but the inside of the apartment made up for the way parts of it looked from the outside patio.
