Kona Village A Rosewood Resort

This trip completely blew me away. Kona Village is gorgeous, but what made it unforgettable were the people. From the second we checked in, the staff made us feel not just welcomed but truly cared for. The bellmen were amazing, shoutout to Devin, Wilton, Rhell & Quincy!! every single one went out of their way to make the rides fun and personal. Devin’s genuine excitement about helping us see the sunrise made it one of the highlights of our stay. Our front desk agent was wonderful and set the tone right from the start. Dinner at Moana was another standout: incredible food, perfect scallops, and service that matched the quality of the meal. Joaquin Torres deserves a shoutout for being so hospitable. The best part of Kona Village wasn’t just the scenery , it was the authenticity of the staff. Nothing felt fake, nothing felt forced. Their kindness and warmth made the whole trip feel magical.

First of all this is the best resort in Hawaii by far and much better than the Four Seasons or any other hotel. I have visited almost all the islands in Hawaii and stayed at many hotels. The property is incredibly beautiful and new with latest technology and sense of place. The accommodations are all standalone “hales” that are exquisitely designed and unique among all of Hawaii resorts. The amenities including pools, restaurants, spa, and common areas are all stunning and nothing compares to them, along with a swimmable beach perfect for snorkeling and water activities. We saw dolphins from our oceanfront hale and a turtle while swimming in the beach one day! But what makes Kona Village the best is the service. They have truly the most exceptional service in Hawaii! Maria gave us the warmest welcome and made our stay super special. We had the pleasure of meeting Daniel the GM and he was very friendly and kind to us. Daniel and Maria are the embodiment of 5 star luxury hospitality and leadership. Our butlers George and Jerry were both amazing and took great care of us. They are wonderful people and a joy to meet! We appreciated very much all the attentions to details, special touches and gifts we received. The entire team is excellent and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Quincy also was so nice and great to talk to and very helpful as well as Devon. Everything was flawless and made our stay very relaxing. Food was delicious and we tried every restaurant. The coconut lime sorbet is amazing and a must try! We cannot wait to come back again and will recommend this resort to everyone. If you want the best you should stay here! It’s a very special place with a very special team!

Finally, a place that delivers on the "Hawaiian dream." From the moment we stepped onto the grounds we felt like part of an extended family. Everyone, from the gracious and congenial general manager to the spa manager to the car valets, went out of their way to greet us by name and took a genuine interest in learning more about us. The large hales were pristine, private and stunningly beautiful. The grounds were immaculately kept. No request was too large and was granted with pleasure. There is not one bad thing I can say about our stay here. It was perfect. We cannot wait for the good fortune to visit again.

We recently turned what was supposed to be just a spa day into a staycation at Rosewood Kona Village and it quickly became one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences. While we’re frequent guests of the spa (which, to us, is the best in the islands), we had never actually stayed on the property. That changed when my mom and I raved so much about it that we convinced a dear friend from Oʻahu to fly over and join us and we’re all so glad she did. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the warmth of the aloha spirit. Patrick greeted us with genuine kindness, welcoming us with ease and assisting with our bags as he led us through the check-in process. That initial impression set the tone for the rest of our stay. We headed to Moana for brunch, where we were delighted to see Sean again. His calming presence and thoughtful service made our meal feel like catching up with an old friend. From there, it was time for our favorite: the Asaya Spa. We’ve visited many spas across the islands, and none compare. The design is refined yet grounded, leaning beautifully into the natural surroundings. James, one of the therapists, was exceptional, his passion for his craft was evident in every detail of the treatment. Later that evening, we attended the Island Roots dinner, a must for anyone staying on a Wednesday or Saturday night. What an unforgettable evening. Surrounded by guests from across the globe, we shared stories and savored an exquisite, locally inspired meal under the Hawaiian sky. Sher and Anthony, along with the entire culinary team, went above and beyond to make it more than a dinner, it was a heartfelt experience. One of the most thoughtful touches? A few of the property’s leaders joined the event, giving it a personal and genuine feel. Early in the evening, we were greeted by Daniel, who we later discovered is the General Manager. His approachable and down-to-earth presence speaks volumes about the culture he’s nurtured at the property. It's no wonder every associate we encountered was warm, engaging, and incredibly kind. When we took our seats at the dinner, pre-assigned, which I actually loved for encouraging great conversations, I found myself next to Theron, the Director of Spa. What serendipity after such a relaxing day at the spa! Theron is truly one of a kind: charismatic, personable, intuitive, and so easy to talk to, he felt like a friend we’d known forever. He added a layer of joy to the evening that we’ll never forget. After dinner, Shanen, the bell captain, drove us back, such a simple task yet we were once again struck by the kindness and authenticity of the team. He was a total delight, genuine, warm, and full of aloha. The next day, we had lunch at Kahuwai Cookhouse & Market, where Rose took wonderful care of us. I rarely rave about food even at high-end hotels, but this was something else. Everything is truly farm-to-table. The oysters are an absolute must! We finished the afternoon lounging at the adult pool, which was perfectly tempered and exactly what you’d want after a rejuvenating escape. In the end, Rosewood Kona Village was so much more than just a hotel stay. It was a feeling, a connection to people, place, and purpose. Every interaction, every detail, and every experience was steeped in thoughtfulness and intention. We're already planning our return. Mahalo to everyone who made our stay so special. Just lack of enough staffs in the main lobby to take care of us

Kona Village is our favorite destination for relaxation and breathtaking views. It features entertainment, spa treatments, fine dining, and direct access to the stunning bay. Our kids love biking around the resort, feeding the ducks, and joining in all the water activities. It’s a beautiful place with exceptional hospitality and accommodations, making it our family’s home away from home.

Kona Village is a stunningly renovated property in the lava rock moonscape of Kona. We stayed in an Ocean View Hale for 3 nights and the room was modern, private, quiet, and had easy access to everything at the property. The Moana restaurant served up excellent breakfast and dinner fare (try the pork ribs!). The staff at the beachside Shipwreck Bar were so friendly they made us feel at home - and made some fantastic cocktails! But the highlight of our experience was the Saturday Island Roots dinner. You enjoy healthy Hawaiian BBQ food under an old tree at a communal table with other guests and some hotel staff. It’s a great way to meet some other guests you see by the pool. Honestly it’s probably one of the most unique things you’ll ever do at a resort hotel - don’t miss it! Overall I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The staff make you feel like family and the grounds are absolutely stunning. You certainly pay a premium for the room and food and beverage, but it’s very worth it. We’ll definitely be retuning to this gem!

We just finished up 5 days at Kona Village and it has been absolutely magical from the minute you turn into the property from the main road. It feels like you are hidden away from the rest of the world. Service has been amazing from bartenders and servers to the management team. Jose Maria and Daniel are doing incredible things here. Ocean activities- so many included activities including snorkeling, paddle boarding and canoes. The team at water activities hut will even be in the water to make sure guests are safe. Very impressed with those guys! We did a sunrise guided canoe paddle and saw pods of spinner dolphins. In the winter, there are whales! Would love to see that some day. Pool Main family pool is large and well staffed. There are plenty of towels, sunscreens and waters in ice buckets. We had lunch at pool most days. The adult pool looks lovely as well but with kids, we opted for family pool. Hot tubs are also nice. Bicycles- the property is large and the bikes really do help you get around. My kids loved biking to breakfast and back and forth to pool for shave ice. Nice touch. Food- not a ton of choices but having four seasons next door helped increase options. I highly recommend Ulu. Each bar has its own specialty cocktails so explore. On Monday night, we did the all you can eat pizza buffet at Shipwreck bar and that was lovely. For me, it’s been the best stay of our lives and it’s because of the special location/history of the place and the thoughtful touches. We booked through our amazing travel agent who has partnership with Rosewood so we go extra special treatment because of that. I would not book without a Rosewood preferred agent. Hope to return in future. We are from east coast so the travel time is extensive.
