Staying there was like having a private chef for breakfast. She cooked a well balanced gourmet meal every morning

Everything was excellent.

Historic feel. Rustic accommodations.

That we didn’t get to complete our stay. We both became ill and had a fever. Thought it was best to go home early. We both thought that the property was great.

The location is suitable for the peripetetic traveler - walking distance to the historical park and the hiking trails, and there are two nice restaurants adjacent to the property (one with take out beverages and other convenience items and the other featuring hearty vegan/vegetarian fare). There is a new convenience/coffee market and a bread bakery/cafe within a couple of blocks, and the 7/11 is a 15 minute walk into Bolivar. I didn't arrive until after midnight because of train trouble, but that wasn't a problem. The hot breakfast was tasty, and it was different each morning (I stayed two nights).

It wasn't advertised, but having access to ice would have been a plus. But there is a guest refrigerator in the breakfast room.

Bed was a little soft for my taste.

This is one of the oldest houses in Harpers Ferry, so it looks and feels rustic. However, it's really well done and modernized. The bed we slept was very comfortable on the third floor, and we had the entire floor to ourselves. There is a fun music bar directly behind the Inn.
