"A lovely apartment which just needs some finishing touches to greatly enhance its appeal."

6.0

The location was ideal being centrally located for visiting the local attractions. However, as the apartment was at the back of Church Street it overlooked the railway line which was only a matter of 50 metres away which led to some noise at night with passing Goods Trains.

The property whilst modern and fitted out with nice quality furniture, it lacked finishing touches, some of which we would consider essential. These include:- 1. Small sofa for the size of the room and certainly for two larger people staying. 2. No dressing table or mirror in the bedroom. 3. No toilet roll holder in the bathroom. 4. No bath or shower mat. 5. No bins in either the bedroom or bathroom. 6. No holder for shower gel etc in the shower. 7. Only two sockets in the kitchen area. 8. No bread knife or scissors in the kitchen. 9. The sitting room is big enough for a table and chairs, which would enhance the appeal, alternatively at least provide trays. 10. No wine or beer glasses. 11. No draining rack or hook/rail for the tea towel (of which there was only one). 12. There needs to be two oven gloves, not one as provided. 13. No washing up bowl. 14. Needs Coat Hooks or a stand in the hallway, also a shoe rack wouldn't go amiss. 15. Sink in the shower room is very small (more like a Cloak Room Sink). This is not really fit for purpose! 16. A shelf to the side or above the sink would help significantly. 17. There was only one hand towel in the shower room. 18. No instructions provided for operation of the cooker. The majority of these finishing touches would be easily remedied at minimal cost, but would significantly enhance the stay.

"This was a short visit to catch up with family and friends."

7.0

Location was very good. Jason was very helpful. Unit was newly renovated, comfortable, clean and tidy.

There was no instruction to how to turn the power on to the shower. There was a lovely large kitchen but no table and chairs to eat your meals. It was very hard eating your meals off your lap or off the coffee table. It needs a few finishing touches to each room.

"Great location and a very pleasant apartment."

8.0

Location was perfect as we were visiting the Tall Ships event. We could peek over the fence on the terrace and see part of the marina and saw the fireworks from there on the Saturday night. It was very close to the railway station, so we caught a train for a five minute ride to visit nearby Seaton Carew, then walked back to Hartlepool. Although Church Street itself looks run down, there are some signs of regeneration on the way. We found several good pubs and bars in the area, our favourite being the Juniper Lounge, and also a very good curry house, Dilshad Tandoori, both on Church Street. The apartment was brand new, and very clean! There was some noise at night as the fairground was immediately behind us at the time and we could hear some music late at night, but we were expecting it to be busy due to the Tall Ships festival. As we were right at the top of the building (2nd floor and no lift) we were not disturbed by passing traffic or people on the street itself.

Overall the apartment was very clean & tidy as it had just been completed apparently. Consequently, there were a few teething problems, but most of these were attended to by the letting agent. We would have preferred a larger bed (it was a Queen size) and I usually check before booking, but on this occasion the availability was more important.
