Canal Grande Lodge

The Canal Grande Lodge was not your typical chain hotel. It was beautiful and tranquil. The owner Rafael and his staff truly make you feel like family. When we needed transportation to our excursions Luis drove us wherever we needed to go and picked us up. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend staying if you want quiet friendly place to stay in Costa Rica.

This was our second time here. Last week my husband and I stayed there 7 nights and we enjoyed it very much. It's quaint, nothing fancy but very relaxing and personal service. Location is lovely, hill top with constant breezes and a lovely salt water pool. Highly recommended if you want an experience other than chain hotels.

Beautiful hilltop setting with 360 degree views. 12 rooms angled around beautiful outdoor pool. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent. Well done all around!

We had a wonderful Christmas week at Canal Grande Lodge! Raffael and his staff were excellent hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. The small hotel was quiet and beautifully situated. You could walk to restaurants and a few small local stores. We enjoyed Santa Margaritas down the street on 2 nights of our stay. If you know this is a small, local property that’s comfortably lived in and you don’t expect a palace for your shoestring budget, you’ll be very happily surprised by this little gem of a hotel!
