The Beverly

The hotel is very clean. There is a chemical smell in the room, but you quickly get used to it. The bed is comfortable, and the sheets are snow-white. The windows, however, were not clean — maybe it bothered only me, since I’m used to European standards. Overall, everything is decent. A big advantage is that there’s no need to interact with anyone: check-in and check-out are done via SMS. The location itself feels a bit eerie — deserted, with a smell of marijuana nearby. But if you just need a place to sleep, it’s perfect: relatively inexpensive and clean.

I was skeptical in having a “basement/lower level” unit, but it was lovely and did not feel like a basement at all. The room was extremely spacious, especially having 4 people. The bathroom is small but lovely, so the good water pressure.

The stairwells are a bit narrow, and the back stairs have frayed carpet which was a tripping hazard, but as long as you’re careful it’s fine.

Large room, attentive staff, kitchen area was nice addition.

WiFi was lacking & heard people above us, A/C not keeping room cold.

Clean. Nice kitchenette.

WiFi password wasn’t what was on all of the information in the room. The air condition blew right down on my head while sleeping.

Well located for visits to Newburyport, Salem and Marblehead.. unit was very clean and staff were in contact via text daily to check on needs. Great cafe, train station, liquor store all walkable.

Could use some style updates…but then again the pricing would go up.

Cozy little apartment with a kitchen. Online check-in was quick and only took a couple of minutes.

I suppose the motel business has “evolved “ ……BUT….. There was no on site greeter or even a front desk or anyone to even ask a question. They take the hotel fees and then text you a room number and code. Well perhaps I’m old….I simply could not get the door open. Finally found a housekeeper whose first language WAS NOT ENGLISH. SHE couldn’t open the door either!!! Three codes later….. she got the door opened. What if I had checked in late at night???? I stayed for 2 nights. During the day I visited family and did not close the door all the way because I was in fear that at night I would not get door open and there was no on sight employees available.

There is no front desk onsite, virtual assistant sometimes tries to be helpful… the cleaning staff are variable sometimes they do not bother a visit. Overall decent rooms, TV roku setup, great bathrooms, kitchen mostly stocked (oven was not cleaned however), the location is spot on downtown Wenham. Very convenient with nearby restaurants, pizza and famous roast beef!
