Mint House Birmingham - Downtown

This property was pristine. The check-in process was extremely simple, contactless and keyless! Once in the room we were blown away by the amenities and decor. Although downtown it was extremely quiet and safe.

The building itself was nice - it’s not super convenient that parking isn’t onsite, but there’s a parking garage right across the way. My only complaints are the noise and the cleanliness of the room. Overall the room was great, but I found a cockroach on night 3 of my stay. Mint House was very accommodating when I told them. They said they were completely sold out so they couldn’t swap rooms, but offered to do a room refresh and offered a discount. The area where the hotel is, is also very loud. You can easily hear people in the hallways and people outside the building.

Mint was artsy and clean. The vibe was excellent. The cleaning staff who came through were friendly and informative. The remote staff was very attentive from afar. A welcome packet or local guide would have helped. Or a guide for understanding the rest of the amenities available other than the gym. Maybe a quick video guide? I visited Friday-Sunday. Parking is absolutely terrible in the garage so you have to hope for available street parking. I wish Mint House had designated parking for their guest.

Modern accommodations and functional. This administrative matters need lots of work. I had to spend about an hour getting my checkin instructions and there was no check out door tag. The whole administrative part was extremely frustrating.

This property was in a perfect location to UAB medical center. I only had to walk 1 1/2 blocks and felt very safe while walking at night. The security of checking in was impressive and added to my comfort of staying at this location. I would definitely stay again!

The studio apartment I stayed in was very clean and modern. I will most likely book a stay at this property the next time I have to stay overnight in Birmingham, AL.
