Mint House Birmingham - Downtown

I like that it was more of a studio property rather than a hotel

I honestly loved this property wish there were more like it nationally

Room was fantastic - but the Mint House checkin experience was the worst I have ever had. 4 different customer service calls in order to get all of the security checks, selfie, access codes. Their app was malfunctioning so I simply could not get checked in according to one of the several customer service reps that I got to know while attemting to simply get in my room. I talked to other guest who used AirBnB and they had no issues.. Use AirBnB if you stay - not Mint House app..

Our roomy, yet compact, apartment at Mint House was easy to access and the pre-arrival customer service was very responsive. The apartment was exceptionally clean and was particularly well kitted-out. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need to prepare a full meal - ample glassware, dishes, cutlery, cooking utensils and pots and pans. There also was complimentary bottled water, coffee, coffee filters, creamer, sweetener and tea bags. The kitchen also included multiple dishwasher tabs and a new sponge and the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and lotion. The apartment was outfitted with an iron, a min-ironing board, a washer and dryer, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a stove, a cooktop and a drip coffeemaker. The spacious lobby is bright and includes self-service snacks and beverages for purchase, plus plenty of seating, a foosball table, an air hockey table and a shuffleboard table. There’a also an onsite gym, which we were unable to use. Unfortunately, the water pressure is on the low side - that’s the biggest negative. The other things we noticed are more nit picky … the bed was comfortable but a little squishier than I’d prefer. It was also a queen, but there’s room for a king in the room. The blackout shade on the window lets a bit too much light in on the sides. Finally, the cabinet door to the main under sink trash can is incredibly difficult to open. It needs a handle or a spring-loaded catch. None of this would prevent me from booking here again. Overall it’s a great property. One thing of which to be aware, there is no onsite parking, but there is a motor lobby with three spaces for luggage loading and unloading. Mint House recommends a secure, pay parking deck associated with UAB hospital which is a block away. We parked there on a Saturday night, and surprisingly, when we departed Sunday at 11 AM, the gate raised and we weren’t charged for parking. Bonus!

Perfect for overnight hospital visit or a weekend stay for an event or linking up with friends and family. Spacious studio with basic needs. Bed was super comfy and the room temperature was perfectly set and monitored by programmed system. Parking is a bit overstimulating when being from out of town but the parking garage attached to the hospital was of convenience. I would stay here again.

Such an awesome place!!! I truly love it here. So clean always!! Restaurants everywhere. Very peaceful and very safe.
